I have hughesnet. Please take my word and dont waste your time or money. The internt speed is aweful and so is tech support. It is way too expensive and way too slow!! I would do anything to get out of my conract that I didn't know I agree'd to. Also, You may want to ask about the "Fair Access Policy".... If you dowload so much in a 24 hour period, they will shut your service down. They are the only internet service providers that I can get where I live and I'd much rather go without internet than to pay them for VERY CRAPPY internet service..(And it comes with a 24 month contract btw).. I'd be glad to help if you have anymore questions!

I've heard all that is very true. They are a pitiful company. I hear AT&T is putting in some wireless internet through some of their cell towers. Wasp Wireless has put in service around the Senath area. They are a spin-off from Mo-Ark Communications in Blytheville.
i used to have dexter broadband from dexter,,,,,,,,stay away no good slow high priced they will screw you on hidden charges my dial up faster than those idiots..

We sell and install Hughesnet service. Most of our customers, I'd say at least 90%, LOVE it.

We have only had 2 customers cancel, due to their special circumstances that Hughesnet could not accommodate, but they were informed of the 30 days to cancel with no disconnect fees.

I am wondering "Please Don't"...were you not informed of the 30 days to cancel?

Do not use Hughes net unless you have no other options.

Fair access policy is the most horrible thing that is associated with hughesnet. At the basic rate you get about 200 250 megabytes thats like watching 9 or 10 youtube videos then you will be basically shut down for 24 hours.

The speed I have the pro package and it's slightly better than the best dial up but not much.

125 dollars for the mounting pole.just for your information.

2 year service agreement,

If you can get dsl or a really good dial up don't go with Hughesnet, it would be fine if they didn't have the fair access policy, but that basically ruins their service.

The satellite has a giant lag so if you are an online gamer, don't even bother.

I pay 90 bucks a month and live in fear of violating the fair access policy every day.

I have compnet isp out of Wardell and it is wonderful. Bill Woodall is the guy to call. He's really nice and his son helps him. We have been very satisfied and the connection and speed is excellent! Have had no problems and its only $25 a month!

Wow, I don't see how HugesNet customers even survive.

I download GIGAbytes per day. Forget megabytes, I have 250 megabytes downloaded in about 10 minutes xD...

They are freaking screwing you around.

Yep they are but it's the only resort in the country until they get a good dsl out here.
Hughesnet knows that most of the people who use it that is their only resort so high prices, slow speeds, and limited usages, are their game.

AT&T has wireless here now?
Or are you referring to the AT&T Wireless PC/Notebook Adapters?
It's not really fast either because they don't have 3G here.

I will agree with you on the DSL or even Cable...if you can get those, it is better than Satellite because of unlimited usage and lower ping rates. However, Satellite is a LOT faster and better than dial up.

We are the dealer. And yes, I will hook up to the Hughes and run a speedtest. We have 3 internet hookups, so give me a little bit to hook up to Hughes.
