I went by the other night after dark and they were still working. Are they getting the building ready to build van trailers instead of flat beds. I hope they start calling back soon. When are they going to let the ones that is laid off know when they are getting called back or not.

If you are going to be call back, it will be around the first of the year. But keep in mind, NOT everyone will be called back. If and when we go back, alot of things will not be the same. If you have a job now, you need to hold on to it untill you see what's going to happen. But things will not be the same!!!!!!!!!!

They may not be calling back anytime soon. The Ch 12 news reported last week another trailer company in southern Illinois is laying 80+ real soon. This economy is still so piss poor.
The company in Illinois will not stop Manac any at all. If anything it will help the plant in Oran, now that Oran is doing the flatbed trailers. Flatbeds is the kind of trailer that will no longer be coming out of Illinois. The ones that was buying from Illinois, may buy from Manac now.

I see that they have an ad in the DDD for applications. Does this mean they are about to open back up? I hope so.

why are they accepting resumes, before they call back employees? Just curious I am not a call back, nor ever worked there, just seemed odd

Just my 2 cents. But the other day I read where thousands of truck drivers are losing their jobs every month. The foreseeable future for new freight rolling stock manufacturing does not look too bright

I know some people that work at Utility in Paragould and they are starting to get orders also. They called a few laid off employees back this week. They said they have orders until April, so it is looking better for them. Maybe Manac will get orders also.

To clear things up:
Go on the company's web site at www.manac.us
Click on "Press"
Read that 11-10 press release.
It should be clear.
All of the steel / combo flatbed assembly capacity will remain in Kennett.
As soon as there is enough volume to support the production, it will start.
The closure of Transcraft in Anna, IL does help the Kennett plant, but only when clients start ordering flatbeds again.
As far as "call back" it is true that not all employees will not be called back. A selection process will take place among past employees. Manac will not make the same hiring mistake twice.
