Running on empty against a red light. Lucky to be alive - thankfully.

He was running on foot against the red light, not in his car, that was stalled. But yes, lucky to be alive at all.

WOW so he landed on Minnesota 61 but was hit on US Highway 61 by Burns in St Paul. Let me think, St Paul to Duluth is about 150 miles but Minnesota 61 goes from Duluth to the border with Canada. That had to be one bad hit.
Of course I know Minnesota 61 up north used to be US 61 but apparently PP has no clue it is a US Highway in St Paul.

Why in every news story where a car hits a pedestrian do they feel like it is necessary to end the story with "the driver of the vehicle was not injured". I don't think anyone was ever under the impression that the driver of a vehicle will be injured when running into a person who is not in a vehicle...

Hit a deer once came yhru my windshield, sure glad i had sunglasses on, there was fricken glass everywhere and i was bleeding like all over my face and arms, i suppose a pedestrian also might end up going thru a windshield causing lacerations to the driver.

Valid point. Keep in mind that deer are much heavier than most humans which makes that much more common, but valid point nonetheless.

Actually humans are probably heavier than deer on average.

The heaviest deer is around 300 pounds, they average 150.

Humans on the other hand have been known to reach 600 pounds, with most in the 180 pound range.

However the mass of a deer tends to be higher than a human and have been know to jump a lot so they might end up through more windshields than a human. A deer weighing a mear 100 pounds going through your windshield WILL hurt you as others have stated.

I hope you were being sarcastic....

The safety rating for cars is determined by how safe the passengers are inside of the car, not how safe the victims of your stupidity on the outside of the car are.
