Justice is being served up to Mr. Mark Wright,finally...He pled guilty of misappropriation of funds...(theft).from the citizens of Kennedale,tx..
While MAYOR of Kennedale and the Darling of all the citizens there, he started a charity fund.. it was supposed to be for the Needy children during Christmas, called Christmas for Children.
He would personally call on the businesses of Kennedale and private citizens would also give to this fund ,thinking that it was a noble and grand thing to help the less fortunate in this city during the Christmas season...
Every year he did this since 1996..But things started not adding up...
No one could find anyone he had helped with this fund... not one ... When asked about it and a request from some citizens to see the account.
Mr. Wright got very indignant about it.
He wouldn't allow it and refused to let anyone view it.
Come to find out it was set up as a personal account for Mr.Wright in a bank in another city.
After he lost his bid for Mayor in 2004 the FBI was called in afer some time they found enough evidence to prove he was using the money he collected for the kids christmas, for his personal use.
They proved $56,000 was put into the account (that was all they could prove but surley there was more collected in cash)and they let him plead guilty and pay restitution of45,000 to another charity (not under his controll).
He also will do 5 years probation and some community service.
Too bad he didn't GO TO JAIL...But afer all he was the darling mayor for several years.
Hmmmmm.... I wonder.... what else did he have a hand in that wasn't what it semmed?????
Oh yes by the way while he was Mayor the Chief o police was stealing( went to prison for it later) a Capt. on the police was stealing (got probation) court clerk stealing(probation) motorcycle officer(probation).
The owner of a topless bar(wright was a regular at another location,got to build a big NEW topless bar at the very location the city was trying to close and remove from Kennedale...
Mr wright and the mayor pro-tem at the time,were the driving force behind the city council's decision to let it be.
Luckily they are no longer ripping the citizens of Kennedale off.
The city now has some very fine and HONORABLE people looking out for thier interest.
Karma and Justice have a way of paying back for misdeeds ain't it grand

That is not all... at the same time we got the crooked MAYOR we also were able to prove that the Police chief ,David Geeslin was steeling and ,he was sent to prison.
Also a police capt. for stealing property
a patrol officer fro stealing
a clerk for helping the chief and stealing.
That was a very bad time for Kennedale.
But they are fine now great Mayor,Chief of police,and City manager. good luck Kennedale
