It's funny how when the Peace Bridge wants to take my home of 60 years people scream "just build the damm bridge". Well I say "just build the damm Walgreens"

I know the area and they don't need a Walgreens there. You don't need a Walgreens any where that's decent. They should stay in the hood where most of them are.

The planning board is poorly trained to render decisions led by pro-Benderson DREW RILEY! it is led to what he wants in the many towns that have let this dictator lead them by the nose..this is a project that should be limited because of conflicting village and town laws but Drew and Benderson have a way around them by making the Benderson controlled town planning board the lead agency. Make Benderson use empty sights first and adhere to the legal setbacks for the village and town.

Whats the big deal about the kids walking to school? There's sidewalks right? If they're walking in the street like a lot of punk high school kids do, just do what I do; Hit 'Em!

Your telling me Hamburg can't use ANY of the empty buildings and spaces it already has in the old KMART plaza on South Park??? Why is it that new buildings need to be put up in areas that cant handle the congestion...How is it the general public can see this but yet all the paid developers can't....

It's sad to say that most likely anyone opposed to having a Walgreens in Hamburg will have their concerns fall upon deaf ears. Walgreens is a corporate BULLY. Plain and simple. They forced my grandmother out her home that was on the corner of Delaware and Palmer where the now "closed up" Walgreens is\was. Many threats were made to her by Walgreens and their attorneys that left her and our family devastated. They do not care who they have to step on or what they have to destroy to get what they want.

Folks of Hamburg, be advised that if Walgreens does not get the business that they forcast over a period of time OR if a better location comes up that is nearby, they will close up and leave that area with yet another unoccupied building like they did at the Delaware/Palmer store.

Why don't they smarten up and put it where Ames used to be? It's a bigger store front already 'truck ready' for deliveries.

Why would people need another choice for their prescriptions? There are 2 Rite Aids (one was Eckert) about an mile away from each other with CVS in the middle on South Park. I agree with the people who think Walgreens should go in the Kmart plaza, if them must come to Hamburg.

When it came to grammar studies in school, I see you thought that was "not needed" either.

Oh right 20 minimum wage jobs are going to make such huge impact. Don't foget no bennies either. Besides the traffic there is turning into a nightmare. I don't live there any more, but I visit family close by. It used to be charming, now it's turning ugly. You don't need a Walgreens there.

Improving an old, abandoned building is far more costly than building a new one from scratch. New construction also provides the benefit of having the best dimensions for its intended use. That is part of the reason why buildings like the Ames plaza remain unoccupied. It's sad, but true. It's like buying a home.

Then why don't these developers get those buildings knocked down as part of their 'deals' and put them on that same property...it's a no brainer. Otherwise we are going to end up with a hell of a lot more empty buildings than just the old Ames plaza

About those round-abouts in Hamburg... what were the engineers thinking? They should have used the ones in South Buffalo along McKinley as a model, where you actually have to stop at all the entrances. The ones in Hamburg are way to small and the times I've driven around them very few cars stop.

I AGREE!!!! And, I know one of the volunteer firemen in the Hamburg Fire Department...they are too small for the trucks to manouver around...that causes delays in response time ...did the engineers and planners every check with the emergency responders on how the roundabouts would affect them???? Poor planning again...

It costs money- a lot of money- to knock down a building. Look around. This happens all over Western NY. It's cheaper to start from scratch. And if the developer made a "deal" with the town to raze the old building, then the money for that would come out of our pockets in the form of higher taxes.
