Brocke: The Kendrick depot decision was the right one

The decision by the City council of Kendrick to remove the rotting remnant of the old train depot, was made following many years of no interest in restoring it.

Kendrick is in my precinct and i was elected as the Democrat precinct committeeman, I vote in Kendrick and reside in Kendrick, last year I asked the kendrick city Council not to make major decisions such as former councils have done in the past like swimming pool closures without notifying the residents of our city, the then acting Mayor; Mike Morgan agreed therefore hearings were held concerning the Depot being taken down and the current city council allowed speakers and interested parties to address the issue ; even 'though some of them were not on the agenda. I don't agree with that because the process turned bitter, with persons who do not live in Kendrick trying to preserve the Depot building and we lost one city council member as a result; we remain grateful to Milt Patterson for his years of service to our city, however I was concerned that he was far too involved with the Depot Preservation committee and it represented a serious conflict of interest and so I was glad that issue was resolved by his resignation and I urge the Mayor to appoint a new council member as soon as it is possible. This Depot conflict has been on the agenda far too long preventing the city of Kendrick from addressing far more pressing matters such as relief on the water bills for struggling seniors and families!
The city council has been the most responsive council we ever had in the past decade, they listen although they don't just listen to those at the meetings and they have voted in accordance with the wishes of the voting residents of Kendrick who want the city council to move on to other issues. I think it is time the ordinances shold be online but the city has limited resources.

The meetings Joyce Brocke refers to were not Public Hearings but regularly scheduled council meetings. They asked for the opinion of those in attendance. You do not have to be on the agenda to speak at a public meeting. Check all your information before you give it out. The process allowed at the meeting is called freedom of speech.

The Kendrick City Council needs to listen to the voice of the majority in this matter and stop the backroom politics and catering to the minority in their immediate circle of friends and influence.
The council, beyond any reasonable doubt, has made the wrong decision and needs to change course and reconsider for the good of all those that understand the value of history and a towns past.

The fact that im pointing this out has nothing to do with me being better than anyone ,on the contrary this particular woman I am speaking of here meddles in affairs of the city which she has no buisness doing,Her husband runs over children on thier way to school,as well as providing a nice safe area at her home for minors to consume alcohol and other illegal drugs.her sons have been in trouble with drugs alcohol and several other things also yet Joyce can sit on her throne and spew crap like this she is literally almost as crazy as her crossdressing husband but hell she was shot in the head whats his excuse?I am not better than anyone and do not claim to be..........

Poopycock, the Kendrick City Council has decided and that was what they were elected to do , it is a democracy, since when does a self appointed committee have the right to dictate to tthe elected city council? I served to protect this nation in the military and not so some committee can have more say in a city than the elected city council, this was a land grab 50 years at a dollar a year poopy cock!

First of all I am on the handicapped committee, so I am not the meddler, my children have no criminsl records by the way and we never dressed them all in black so they would easily not be seen on the way to school, our children all have good work ethics and pay taxes unlike so many bums! The Heaths are hogging every bunny in town so they can feast on rabbit manure! I don't drink or smoke and the accident involving the Heath boy was an accident, because his irresponsible parents didn'
t drive him to school and my boys have not either been in all that legal trouble, Robin has never smoked even a cigarette and all of them have no criminal record, Wayne Eugene has children and they all pay taxes!

First of all the registered voters in Kendrick have been totally disenfranchised on the matter of the Kendrick Depot and I suggested that the registered voters decide this matter, both sides of this debate seem hesitant to entrust the future of this city to the voters; why? It legally belongs to the citizens of Kendrick, not to theDepot preservation Committee or those from the Ridges, or from Moscow or anywhere else. I proposed a legal ballot petition that would call for a special election to be held within 30 to sixty days after a legal petition gathered enough signatures and 22- 25 signatures from legally registered voters residing within the city of Kendrick are the amount needed to overturn the City Council's March 9th decision to accept the bid from Timberworks and reimburse Brad dammerman of Timberworks and when I mentioned this to the Mayor he was opposed saying , What if it went the other way? This is a democracy and it can go either way and it should be up to the voters at this point, there have been accusations of sign stealing from the Depot Building and hard feelings between townsfolk and others. It is high time folks quit whining about that Depot Building and put it up to a Democratic vote, like it or not this issue legally belongs to the registered voters who live in Kendrick, no matter how anyone feels about it.
I may adore the Eiffel Tower but it's fate is in the hands of the citizens of Paris, France and that is the reality!

My stepchildren are hardly criminals, none have any criminal record and alcohol is not consumed in my home period and I was elected to represent the precinct Kendrick is in I will attend city council meetings anytime I choose, my husband is not a criminal and has only two misdemeanors and one of those is over thirty years in the past the other was a tragic accident involving the Heath boy who was dressed in black on his way to school and he stepped out into traffic, his parents should take him to school since he doesn't know how to cross the street yet, we gained legal custody of Josh and Wayne years ago when Wayne was eleven because they had been seriously abused by their mother and the court gave us Josh even 'though he wasn't Don's bio son only a stepson from a prior marriage to keep them safe from abuse we took them both in and yes those two were at risk and had juvenile issues but we took them to therapies and their issues improved in our care, these are all my stepchildren but I love them as much as if I had indeed birthed them

Josh now lives in Tennessee with his wife and child, Wayne lives in Kendrick with his new wife, Krista, the twins both live in Moscow and own their own house neither of the twins even has any misdemeanor record or a traffic citation and neither twin ever had even a juvenile record and we tsught them how to cross the street at age eight!
