the thing is, regardless of having a bad childhood, he made his choices as a man. many, many people have bad childhoods, feel rejected and alone, but the don't GO OUT AND MURDER! he's in jail where he belongs.

well....i see nobody has been to this page in a long time. but i wanted to comment on all this that i have read above....it was stated that he and cox were a danger to anyone that crossed their paths. i was 15 when i met charlie, that was about 10 yrs ago. and there is no excuse for what he did and i dont understand why he did do it. BUT, he looked out for me and helped me when i needed him and i knew a different side of him. just as Emily and Mary Jo did. He was like a big brother to me and i never saw this coming. I tho could probably not see the good in anyone who murdered someone i loved either though, so im not tryin to make anyone see that at all....i am very sorry for all parties that were involved in there losses. i was only commenting b/c i read all the above and see how much hurt and pain it has caused ppl. and i truely feel bad for everyone involved. not speaking bad about charlie, but nobody deserves to be murdered. this site was the only one i have ever googled about it. i never heard the full story or the majority of it until now. i guess people arent always what they seem?

If Chuck tried so hard to get Charlie the help he needed where was he when Charlie was young. He can't come into Charlie's life at the age of 24 and expect everything to be ok and to make up for everything he missed out on. He can't make Charlie a man in one night. It takes quite a while to have an impact on someone thats why we all have parents to be there for us at all times especially at such a young age. Carl, my father, did the best he could. Do you not understand how Charlie felt knowing that his own "father" didn't even want him. Never had the time to come see him. What thoughts went through his head. My dad did everything he could. Look at me... I'm not a murderer...in fact I've never been in any sort of trouble, graduated high school, full time job, 3 kids of my own. I would never be able to leave them behind. I'm not blaming Chuck for Charlie's actions that night, EVERYONE knows he was in the wrong, but his hatred stemmed from somewhere.... Ever think maybe it was Chuck. I have NEVER heard Charlie say that Chuck killed our mom. Maybe if it was said Charlie meant emotionally.... How many times has Carl called you and Chuck after my mom passed away for help with Charlie... how many times have you returned his calls??? my point exactly but I thought you guys "TRIED MANY TIMES"... sounds like it to me...
I so agree with you!! yeah it was shockin and horrible what happened. but like everyone says...his "father" wasnt even around...in all those yrs. i never saw him!!! i dont think its right to murder someone at all....but Charlie DID have a good heart!

chorpenning was the main one ,he planned it. neither guy really knew pat but chorpenning's reason for killing him was he thought pat had done something and it wasn't even true! either he used this as his excuse for the murder or was just plain mistaken. the cox guy was along for the ride but just as guilty. they stole zip ties, broke pat's door open, pulled him out of bed cause he was asleep, beat him and then took turns strangling him. i think charlie was the one that finally killed him. then he stole pat's car, apparently he's got a long history of car theft. he got caught a week or so later when he stole another car, wrecked while police were chasing him. his step-dad turned him in.

Okay..Wow! Everyone on here is making excuses or blaming others, including family members of the convicted. I didnt know any of the parties invovled so I have no bias like most of you do! I know that murder is wrong, even if this person had some form of mental illness they too knew that murder is wrong! I have a five year old son and he knows that murder is wrong! The point is that both men chose to do this and they both got punished for it! Maybe not to the extent to which they should have but God will take care of that later. I also do not buy the story of his past. Yes, he had it rough and no child should be treated that way, my son's father did the same to him when he was four months old! I had a tough past and I would never ever ever murder someone or blame those who have done wrong to me for it if I had. I was beaten my entire childhood, I was raped when I was 9 and 12 years old, all by family members. I am now 24 and i have a wonderful son. I have a great job and I have a college degree. Charley could have had a great life but he chose not to! From what I have read above all of those around him have tried to help him in several ways. He was truly loved by his family and I can see that but he chose to do this and should suffer for it! I understand why Mr. Biddle's family feels so strongly about his loss and those of you on here that are telling them they are wrong! They are grieving more than you and i will ever know and lost in a way that you have not! Sure your inpain because someone you care about is in Jail....but they are still alive..you can still have contact with them..Pat was takin away without a chance for his family to say goodbye! he is the victim not these other men so just remeber that! God bless to you all and I hope you all find closure whether it be because of a death or loss of a friend to prison.

You're right they are both murderers. Chorpenning got a harder sentence because he was considered the most responsible in the plan. Doesn't matter, Pat is just as dead, and I miss him. No sense in rehashing it over now, what's done is done.

How nice for you. and Charlie. It'd be nice if Pat and I could still be friends. Or he could see his family, children and grandchildren. Or we could have even have seen him to say goodbye.Instead we got some ashes in a jar, bad nightmares and memories, and lives forever changed. His son's birthday was yesterday, our daughter's is in a couple days. Guess we could all go up to the cemetery and have a little party there. or not. If I sound angry ,it's because I am. I wouldn't want a friend like charles chorpenning. But that's just me.

I just found this and doubt that anyone will read it, but I feel the need to write this...for myself & for Pat. I dated Pat for about a year over 10 years ago. He was a loving, sensitive, and funny person. He was protective of those he loved and a true gentle giant. He had a greener thumb than anyone I have ever known. He could grow a plant in a bed of rocks. He taught me how to take care of my plants and I still have some of the houseplants he gave me, including an aloe plant that's been growing strong for all these years. Today, I found a jar of spaghetti sauce that we made and canned together and it made me think of him. I wanted to find him and get in touch with him. That's when I learned that he had been murdered over 3 1/2 years ago. Then I learned that one of the murderers had accused Pat of being something he wasn't and had murdered him over a "spiritual" belief. I am heartbroken and sickened. I loved Pat & still do. I know what kind of person he was. I know that he was a good man. The world is a colder and emptier place without him in it. My deepest sympathies go to his family--to his parents and siblings who he cared deeply for, to his children whom he loved very much and his grandchildren, who are missing out on knowing him, to his ex-wives, Sara and Melissa, and to his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. I miss you, Pat. I wish I could talk to you.

I dated one of the murderers for a week and dumped him because he was a worthless piece of sh$t. Boy was I right. I hope both of these men roy in hell for what they have done. They stole the father from one of my dear friends. Mental retardation? oh vomit. More like uneducated ignorance and pure stupidity. The two men who stole his life deserve nothing more than to fry in the electric chair. I wish our country still used public hanging as a punishment. These two cold blooded killers don't deserve the hot meals our tax dollars are feeding them. Hell has a special place for men like them. My heart goes out to the biddel family, still, for their loss. I don't care how "good" you say the two murderers were, you obviously didn't know them or are a complete waste of oxygen like they are.
