i saw in this article that among the things stolen from Pat was a Bible. God works in mysterious ways. Maybe some good will come from all of this. He is always in charge.

I dated one of these guys for a long time, several years ago. I know this man, and I know that his love for God is strong. He may have made a horrible decision, but there is definetly more to this story than what reports are letting people to believe....

this guy had a strong love for god??? what a joke, if you dated this loser, you are no better than him. pat was my cousin and he was a good man. these two morons should burn in hell, or at least burn in the electric chair.

I am Charles Aunt and I believe the system has let this young man down. He was incarcerated at the age of 17, during that incareration his mother pasted away of cancer. He never received any tools or rehibilitation while he was locked up. When he waw released he was a different person, an angry man, lost in the world with no one to turn to. The two weeks before the murder he had been arrested several times which violated his parole. So how did he get out of jail each time. He had no money. I know they let him out the last time without posting any bond because, according to Charlie, they didn't want to pay for the medical attention he needed for injuries he sustained in a fight. My point: Charlie wasn't a hardened criminal when he went into prison at 17. He was a criminal created by our system while he was in prison. Also, if our judicial system would have been at work, Charlie would not have been free to commit this awful crime. He was crying out for help by getting arrested several times prior to the murder, but they just kept releasing him, putting him back on the street until he committed the unthinkable.
Charlie and lionel are not the only ones responsible for Mr. Biddle's death.

You know, it is very easy to sit in judgement of other people when faced with hurt and sadness, but the fact remains, you do not know any of us. You say that your cousin was a good man, and that the two "morons" are not, but I and others see a different perspective of the situation. Everyone has their own demons, some worse than others, but like I said, I know this man and I know that his faith is strong. Believe it or not, but like I said before, you do not know him or his situation. You can continue to pull the wool over your eyes and not see the whole story if you choose, but I will continue to respect your opinions and my heart felt sympothy goes out to you and your family, sincerely. But the fact remains, I will not turn my back on these boys-their family and loved ones are hurting too.

I moved away a few years ago and don't know these boys, but i DID know Pat and I can assure you that whatever you think is the rest of the story is incorrect. I knew Mr Biddle on a professional basis and some of the rumors surrounding this were completely untrue. He may have had some issues to deal with but certainly none of which ever caused anyone any personal harm nor certainly none that gave reason to be murdered.

The first thought that comes to mind about your defense of one of these alleged murderers is why you two broke up. I suspect that you are a person of faith. So I doubt his strong faith was the issue that broke you two apart. I suspect that there was something else. Perhaps it was because he was on some bad path in life and you did not want to be part of his (likely low) lifestyle. Perhaps it was because he had a significant mental issue to deal with, which was difficult to deal with. Perhaps these were issues that attracted him to the easy relief of God taking away all of these burdens. I will bet that if you look back on it, you will see that your own time with the alleged murderer will have at least one major clue that the man could eventually get in this much trouble.

I just found these posts. I have known Pat for 30 years, we were married and have a daughter together. i know him better than most people. i loved and still love him. He didn't deserve what was done to him. His life was STOLEN from him,and now all of the people left behind are trying to deal with it. I am having anxiety attacks, our daughter is not coping well, his son either. His parents and brother , sister, and all of his family are not only left with the grief, hurt, anger, and loss, but every time there is something in the newspaper or the news it is all opened up again. regardless if the system failed or not, these two CHOSE to break into pat's apt, tie him up, beat him, and strangle his life from him. it was THEIR choice! pat didn't get a choice. i am sorry for the families of these men, but just because someone has problems doesn't mean they shouldn't be accountable for what they did.

one of the killers, charles chorpenning, who is facing life without parole,is pleading that he is mentally retarded. well he was smart enough to rack up quite a few felonies before this. does anyone know how they decide in a court case if someone's retarded?

Knowing him, I would say on some level, he is mentally retarded. Not in the way we see people with Down Syndrome or anything, but still a lower mental capacity none the less. He has been in boy school or jail/prison for most of his life. I believe that definetly has something to do with his massive list of charges. He is an institutionalized man that has never learned how to live life in a way that we would call "normal". He is a little boy trapped in a man's body. He has experienced trama after trama, with no outlet to deal with the issues, ever. I am not trying to justify his actions, but like I have said before, he has family, too, and they are all hurting the same as the Biddle's are. No one but those two boys knew what was going through their heads but them. Everyone envolved in this situation, no matter how little of a part they play in it, will pay for the actions of those involved. Pray that everyone involved finds peace in their own way.

For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trepasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

-Matthew 18:21-22

Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other, as the Lord has forgiven you, so you must also forgive.

I would say that Charles Chorpenning isnt the brightest person, but I believe that he is not mentally retarded. He is claiming that to try to get out. If I have my way he will stay behind bars where he deserves to be. The car he stole that got him busted was mine and he will pay for that. I could have been the next Pat Biddle. The dumbass was stupid enough to keep the key to Pats car on him though. How stupid can you be. He probably would have "got away with murder" if the cops didnt find the key when they pulled him out of my car.

You are completely wrong. If someone, even this guy that I know, killed one of my family members, I would be sad and hurt, but I would accept it and have comfort in knowing that the Lord will take care of it. I am not God and it is not my place to sit here and pass judgement on anyone. Everyone dies, plain and simple. It would be nice if evereyone lived until they died of old age, but that is not reality. People die of diseases, care crashed, murders, drownings, fires, over doses and how many other ways. All of these are considered "untimely" deaths, but the fact remains, none the less, everyone dies. And I would love to sit in the court room, but I will not be telling his family what "good boys" they are because he really doesn't have any family; and the family that he does have, knows just how good his heart is, even if you can never see it. I do understand what happened to Mr. Biddle, as far as the beating and strangulation goes; but I also know quite more than that. I heard stories about Mr. Biddle when I dated Charlie five years ago; Pat Biddle is not a new name to me. If you do not want to hear about the "killers" anymore, than stop coming to this site. We are all hear to freely share our own opinions. You will not see me put down anyones opinion on here EVER. I might not agree with what someone has said, but I am not here to pass judgement on anyones opinions or feelings of hurt, betrayal, or whatever other feelings someone might be feeling. I have talked to Charlie on the phone and received many letters from him since this awful tragedy took place. We do not talk much about the incident, but when I think about him and the choices he made, and his new born baby that will never know her father, I am also thinking about Mr. Biddle's family and everyone else that is mourning the loss of him. Everyone loses here, the victim and his family and loved ones and the two men and their family and loved ones. I fully understand that we will never see eye to eye on this, and I accept that, but I will still be stopping by this site from time to time to see what everyone has to say. Charlie knows that now he has to face God and that is way worse than anything the judicial system can do to him. There was a reason that they took the Bible. My heart still goes out to all of those that are sstill mourning the loss of Mr. Biddle, sincerely. You are all in my thoughts and prayers often and will continue to be every time Charles Willaim Chorpenning crosses my mind.

I am truly sorry that Charlie stole your car, sincerely, but there is no way that you "could have been the next Pat Biddle." There is more to the story than the newspapers tell bystanders. Mr. Biddle was BY FAR a random target. They went to HIS house for a reason. That does not justify what happened by any means, and I am not trying to justify or condone their actions and choices. but your car was the target, not you. I hope that you never experience anything like that ever again. I can't even imagine how scary it would be to come out of a place and your car be gone. My heart goes out to you as much as it does to everyone else....

how do you know so much about this? by what the killer told you? I don't care WHAT the reason was that they said went there, they beat and strangled him to death. i have known pat for 30 YEARS, so don't try to turn the blame on him. pat had a REAL, SERIOUS mental illness, not one contrived to keep him out of prison, and i watched it tear him down over the years. i knew ALL sides of him, good and bad. but he had a good heart, and never MURDERED anyone. also, i've heard some of the rumors about him, and there is one in particular that is the biggest lie of all. you have NO IDEA the heartache and problems his death has caused his family and friends. so,open your eyes and see the big picture. cox and chorpenning were a danger and threat to ANYONE who crossed their path, not just someone they were aquainted with.

you would feel sad and hurt if a family member was murdered ? everyone dies? what a stupid, inane, answer! have you ever had someone you were close to murdered? then DON"T try and say how you would feel, because YOU DON'T KNOW! you say you are a christian, well, then, i think you would know that THOU SHALL NOT KILL is one of the ten commandments. so far as sitting in judgement, chorpenning and cox are admitted killers.that is stating a FACT, not judging. if we went by the bible, they would be PUT TO DEATH THEMSELVES, but we will be letting the courts decide their punishment, which will be much more lenient than they deserve. you've heard stories about Pat? from the killer? well, i'm sure he is a trustworthy source.i've heard stories too, and i would stake my life on it that the ones i heard were LIES. you must be young, or foolish, to be so blind as to believe everything this con is telling you. i hope God opens your eyes. you ARE right about one thing, though. i think i'll quit coming to this site. hearing about the poor, misunderstood killers makes me physically sick. grow up.
