Glad to see Albion making the news yet again for something stupid. Clean up your act out there.

The Albion weekend men's softball league was historically sponsored by Genesee & other beers for years. One year even the trophies themselves had beer cans as part of them. The end of year party had free beer. Watching a ballgame with a beer is the American way. Drinking while playing is not.

Tell me why, Foote's team was supposed to play at 8am and because he didnt have enough players that early in the morning, he rescheduled his game for later that day and pushed other teams schedules around so his team had the opportunity to play in the playoffs. If it was someone else's team, it would have been a forfeit. smh...

Why is there 11 players on the D2 champs that play on the D1 champ team. Why is there a D2 if most of the players are the same??????????

That type of scenario has been going on for years and years. Some of this feeds over-inflated egos that make some guys feel like they are major league baseball stars that they never could become....the way they dress, act and carry on with their antics. You are right...it does make you laugh and it is and always has been a joke. The different divisions were originally meant to balance the various skill levels of people and their teams, not monopolize the league. Albion is a safer place with all of this because problem people get to act out their fantasies on the weekends and not at work during the week. Psychology 312 at SUNY Brockport actually requires field observations on this type of behavior. It is so classic dysfunctional and yet so real....right in our own back yard!

Hey Foote. Just because you read this board don't think going on the website and deleting the team rosters hide anything. Sunday league you have ruined it a joke.

Don't worry about any of this. The weather is Changing. The fields will soon become covered with snow. Then the only thing to do is to play Hockey on one of the outside school ice hockey arenas...but you will have to fight the Indians in the area to get your chance to play.

Quit your crying all the D2 teams have plenty of D1 players on it. If you don't like having a shitty D2 team get better players!

The reason its like that is because if everyone didn't play on different divisions they would have enough teams for all 3 divisions. If you suck play D3!

So get rid of one of them. Make D3 the new D2 and just have D1. Why call it D2 and D1 if it's mostly the same guys on the same team. Then again, there isn't that much common sense going on it Albion. If you had it you wouldn't still be there.

Wow Fred miller said if you want to drink you should find a place to play that is private owned...... Why can't I play on the field I pay taxes on ????
This is a crock of shit what should be done is we the people who voted in these people to REPRESENT us should take the extra time available now with the new rules and go to every village meeting and change the rules to suit what the people want!!!!!!

This whole solution to the problem is a crock. It was known from the beginning that such laws would be unenforceable. Why did this problem need to go before the Village Board after drawing in the APD? Seems like the Men's Softball League officers failed the system by not enforcing the rules nor the consequences in the first place. The players and spectators who violated them tested the waters and saw the farce and went forward. There is also no smoking (including tobacco) in village parks/properties. No tickets here. WTF? Selective enforcement? This recent action merely bandaids the problem but does not heal it. George Dukakis said it well when he said "a fish rots from the head down".
