"It's outrageous that the Obama campaign is trying to attack her over a family issue."

A family issue, firing state troopers..... So using your authority as governor to fire someone over a "family issue" is appropriate?

How amusing. And very interesting the words that McCain's campaign chose to use in her defense: "she was never DIRECTLY involved". This does nothing to address that she was behind the phone calls, only stating that she wasn't the one who made the actual calls. Can we say "political speak"? If she "has nothing to hide", then why has she opted to hire attorneys?
Thank you John McCain. This was the choice that will finally sink your battleship.

Why doesn't anyone in the MSM report what the trooper was accused of doing? He TASERED his 10 year old son (Palin's nephew) and admitted it to investigators. His excuse was the boy told him he wanted to know what it was like to be tasered. Palin also told investigators she personally heard the trooper threaten to kill her parents. Why is this never reported? Because the American public can't handle the whole story? Oh, did I mention the same trooper was found to have been drinking beer in his patrol car? This guy was and is no example of fine law enforcement. He is still with the Alaska State Patrol!

Let me see.... you have a trooper (Wooten) who tazers his kid, reportedly beat his wife, was allegedly drinking in his squad car, allegedly threatened Palin's parents and took game illegally. You or I would be in prison if we did the same things. The trooper got 5 days of leave and returned to work. I think the comissioner should have been fired if he didn't have the guts to do his job and fire Wooten. I am amazed Wooten is still a trooper. This is such a non issue. Monegan is upset because he was let go end of story.. I would be embarassed if I were in Monegan's position why in the world would he keep somebody like that on duty? Alaska's troopers are some of the best in the world I am sure they are ashamed of Wooten and Monegan..
You guys need to get on the boards and tell people on the internet what you know to be true. The liberal media is crucifying this woman, and there are many of us who don't know her or her situation that need to be informed of the truth and many of us want to give her a chance. Alaskans know what happened with regard to that Alaskan trooper and how she governs. The NY Times is really picking on her with no experience and lack of "education", along with all of the blogs on the mainstream news stations. She could use your help out there!

I notice all the nonsense about what a great pick Sarah Palin was has died down.
Republicans are looking for rocks to hide under.
This scandal has barely begun.
This lady has a lot of dirt in her past.
Drug use, getting married because she was pregnant, abuse of power in office, hiring a lobbying firm to secure Federal Earmarks for Wasilla, a drunk of a husband, a little sex addict for a daughter.
It's like Britney Spear's family!!!
Maybe Bristol can get a reality show with Paris Hilton!!!
Wow! Sounds like she's very much in tune with the typical Democratic voter!

You really don't know what you are talking about. Walt was scheduled to reire in a couple months from the time the mayor took office the mayor didn't want to change leaders in the middle of his tenior. He and Walt agreed that he would retire a couple months early. The mayor and Monegan both have stated this. Also Walt and Mark dicussed this and Mark treated him with the respect by talking to him himself.

September 03, 2008. So the mainstream media seems to now be letting up on the Palin baby drama, but we're not. MediaTakeOut.com just received evidence that calls into question whether Gov Palin's alleged son Trig was born when and where she claims.

We conducted a preliminary search of the Mat-Su Regional hospital's website (where baby Trig was supposedly born on April 18th), and the website DOES NOT show any record of Trig's birth. Instead, the site shows that only 2 baby's were born in the hospital that day - an Isaiah Travis and a Kayden Lexus.

It's still not enough for us to CONCLUSIVELY say that Gov Palin is full of ish, but we're getting there. So now let's go with what we know AS FACT:

1. Palin hid her pregnancy from the media. When she finally announced her pregnancy (in March) she was not showing any obvious signs of pregnancy despite being 7 MONTHS PREGNANT - Source.

2. Gov. Palin mysteriously took her daughter Bristol out of school a few months before the March pregnancy announcement. The "official" reason for Bristol's removal from school was because she caught a serious case of Mononucleosis.

3. During the time that Bristol was out of school with that "serious case of mono", Trig was born.

4. No record of Trig's birth is readily available from the hospital which Palin claims to have delivered.

5. And here is the kicker. Since Bristol is supposedly 5 months pregnant now, she must have conceived her child while she was out of school with that supposed serious case of mono.

Well, it was her brother-in-law that she was trying to get fired.

I think Sarah Palin is a selfish and neglectful mother.
How sad to give birth to a special needs baby just 4 months ago, not to mention leaving 4 other kids alone all the time to run off and campaign day and night for the next 2 months.. If she wanted to be a government official, she shouldn't have birthed all those sweet kids. A women as self-serving as Sarah could easily fire her ex-brother-in-law to suit her own desires whether or not it was the moral or legal thing to do.

Biden swore in as senator at the bedside of his two surviving children after his wife and daughter died in a horrible accident. I guess you would agree that he was selfish and neglectful too.

what reason did she give for firing the commissioner.. i mean you can't just fire state people without some type of reason.. i haven't seen HER REASON anywhere, i mean do you have to fill out a form or something when you fire a high ranking commissioner?
again.. i do say leave the family alone, but how is this a family attack?

the cop is a loser, and should have been fired.. but wasn't.. most cops are like this guy, they break driving laws and do what ever they want..

the question is why did she fire the commissioner? what was her reason if it wasn't to get back at the guy?

no one is at all defending the trooper..

Biden takes the train home every night to be with his remaining children.
Biden was already in office when the accident occurred.
""""" Biden considered resigning in order to care for them.[6] Persuaded not to by Senate Majority Leader Mike Mansfield, he was sworn into office from one of their bedsides.[11] The accident left Biden filled with both anger and religious doubt: "I liked to [walk around seedy neighborhoods] at night when I thought there was a better chance of finding a fight ... I had not known I was capable of such rage ... I felt God had played a horrible trick on me."[11]"" """
He has honored his promise.
Sarah seems busy pushing the baby off on her daughter.
Why do you attempt to compare the two??
A 4 month old with Down's Syndrome requires a whole helluva lot more attention and care than one of her other children.
How's she going to do that??
I would agree that you are a **** for trying to link these two issues together.
But then, you're a Republican.
Why's Palin afraid to face the Press one on one??
Because she'll embarass herself and McFraud, that's why.
But she's completely ready to lead.
More from the Church of Palintology.
I'm suggesting that their is a gender bias in the comparison, and I would agree that you are a ******** for being part of that bias.

And you know this ...how?? He was investigated within the State Police and disciplined.
Using her influence to attempt to get him fired was abuse of power, plain and simple.
Sarah Palin wrote a letter of commending Ofc. Wooten in 2000. But she turned on him and began a vendetta.
Who are you to criticize the trooper? You don't know what you're talking about. Just taking a side without facts.
That's her history.
Using a taser on your 11 yr old child would make you a loser. That fact alone gives me or anyone a reason and right to criticize him.

Please read the story with the web address that was given earlier for the Alaskan paper. There is no Eastern Liberal reporters in Alaska unless they are sent by MSNBC to check on Sarah Palin's children.
I am glad no one was seriously hurt by this trooper
