Isn't Lake County a wonderful place to live? Where else is it you do not have to work, you can get enough money to live on from the taxpayers, smoke pot, drink wine, cash your checks at the casino, get in your car, drive to the marina, get in your boat, drive as fast as you want, smash into the back of another boat and get away with it, because you ...

yeah, really, what are you doing here, can't scrape-up bus fare? BTW Dennis, exactly what have you done to make it better, besides gripe about what's wrong?

The answer to the stagnation in Lake County is growth. If we want our county to prosper, we must entice new business and the jobs that will be created, to come to Lake County.
It has become painfully obvious that a welfare county in tandem with a high regulatory environment, does not work for anyone.
We must move forward, or we will continue to wither on the vine.
It is that simple.

To every accusation there is a merit of truth.
To what Dennis is saying there is some validity too. I agree that we have problems in the county and that growth would help us, but more then growth we need industry here. We need businesses that aren't some mom and pop store selling antiques or garish art. Those are lame ducks that never profit or creat jobs. We need to agressively pursue businesses that will employ people. I notice that everytime there is a franchise that comes to Lake County, there is a city father or ancient resident who gripes about it. We need some urban renewal fast or we will not only stagnate like our lake but we will be a ghost county. Vote these jokers out of the counsel and start over.. oh and stop listening to the whiners who hate businesses.

Love it or leave it. Quit crying and adopt a highway, or do something productive. Simply complaining will get you nowhere, fast.

Yes, bring in the growth, and you bring in all the problems that come with it.

Stop trying to make a metropolis out of a rural area. Look what happened to Santa Clara Valley. Once an agricultural area, then Silicone Valley rolled in, and now an over priced area for homes with no jobs to support it. There is a price to pay for growth.

Silicon valley has individual employers that are large enough to employ every worker in this county. The largest employers in Lake County are taxpayer funded, i.e. schools, county government.
A pathetic state of affairs.
People do not come to Lake County to start a life, and get a job. It is quite the opposite.
Folks who move here are either retired, or trying to avoid going to work. Welfare is the growth business in Lake County. Parolees, and folks who are on welfare will not improve a community.

You have a polluted cesspool for a lake. You have a polluted cesspool for a city, Clearlake. It always has been a dumping ground for parolees, sex offenders and other wingnut malcontents. No wonder they call it Flake County. People try to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. There are just too many degenerates and low lifes around the place. Not to mention the defense conspiracy shill smatterings and their groupies.

That the populace are servants of the ones that serve them?
Corruption. From the Assessors Office, Board of Supervisors, Fire Department and Board of Supervisors.
Some how or another there is always someone on the take.
The contractors and good old boys rule and manipulate this backwater county.
I'm leaving this cesspool of County. I have been up here for well over twenty years and you can have it.

If big box stores make everything better then why is Clearlake still essentially the Highlands - except with lots more people on the public payroll?
