sad, makes you wonder what sort of problems this guy had that made such a terrible option seem like the best possible solution, it sure makes you count your blessings.

Horribly sad. Condolences to the family of those involved. Makes one wonder what conspired to bring this man to such a dark place.

The wife was on kidney dialysis and waiting for a new kidney. The husband was not a match for her but was giving a kidney to UC Davis in trade for a kidney for her, however he had shoulder surgery and got an infection and they had to clear up the infection before they could take the kidney. They had owned a saddle shop in Kelseyville a couple of years ago, but had to close it because of her illness. He had been a cowboy & rodeoed most of his life, and she had always been involved in horses & animals, and NO they did not have any children (I do not know if he did from previous relationships), just their animals. They did not qualify for any financial aid because she had inheritated her property from her parents, but could not afford to sell it because there would be no home for the animals.
Looks like things just got to hard for them both to handle, and a very, very sad situation. thoughts & prayers to the families.

Bill and Linda were VERY wonderful people. Both very carring, and proud people, to proud to ask for help, even from friends and neighbors that cared for them. Yes they both health problems, and they had both recieved some bad news from Stanford this past week. She had been removed from the transplant list, as her body was producing a fluid like poison. Bill had also been informed that he may have cancer. I know that next of kin all live out of state, and that neither of them had contact with family for years. They had friends that were like family to them, and their animals were their children. Knowing them, as I have, I can say that this was not something that was planned, they would have made arrangements for the animals if it was. Also, Linda was Bills reason for LIVING, with out her, he felt he had no purpose, so think about that, PLEASE. These were honest, honorable, loving, caring, proud people. They will be deeply missed.

Murder is a strong word for a mercy killing.
Suicide is a strong word keeping ones marital vows.

Absolutely heartbreaking. Too many people are suffering today. This is the harsh reality of no way out. Wish they had had other alternatives.

I wonder if she wanted him to take her life and it was planned between them or if he took it upon himself to end her life without her consent, that would be evil.

Done out of love, kindness and caring, nothing is evil. What would have been evil is if he had not turned the gun on himself and used her illness as an excuse for doing what he did. Our prayers for these people, gone now together in love.
