Interesting. This shop has been in business since the 80's and has an A+ rating with the better business bureau. Sounds like a difficult customer to me. The shop has always done quality work and has the best in the business working there. They are busy when other shops are dead. Great bunch of guys working at the Fender Mender. I would reccomend them over any other body shop around.

Best shop around. Insurance agents take their own personal vehicles to this shop and they know all the shops in town. The Keller and Southlake police also have them do work on thier cars. I would reccomend to anyone. Nice place to do business.

The negative posts are from a little man with a little man complex who went to a very busy shop expecting the world to stop turning even though he didn't make an appointment first. The negative comments are all from one person seeking a vendetta, who is a little nobody.

The reviews are not from one person as the shop would like you to believe. These reviews are from a local car enthusiast website that can see right through this place. Read the thread linked above and you will see they are now attempting damage control. You will find all the evidence you need as to why NOT to take your vehicle to this place. Can they put out good work? Probably.. Will you have to deal with a poor attitude? MOST LIKELY!!!

THIS COMPANY RESORTS TO WHAT AMOUNTS TO BULLYING WHEN YOU TRY TO GET WARRANTY WORK DONE! PICK ANOTHER SHOP AND DON’T ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE INTIMIDATED WHEN YOU COME ACROSS A PLACE LIKE THIS! We had to get the police involved to get our vehicle back once we dropped it off for repair work that was under warranty (bubbling paint/horrible swirl marks in a ‘soft’ clear coat/ect). They had no right to keep it – no money owed, lien, ect. You have options out there and Fender Mender shouldn’t be one of them.

God bless the internet and the right to free speech!

I worked for the Fender Mender for over 12 Years before getting into My Law Enforcement/Firefighting career, while the Dinsmores can be difficult at times the shop does produce Quality work and unless things have changed in the last 5 years they bend over backwards to provide the most quality repairs and service from the Body Tech to the Detail Crew these guys are great.I have been seen Barry give a customer his personal vehicle to drive because of a warranty issue. I no longer work there but will continue to drive 60 miles and pass several other shops to take my vehicles back to the Fender Mender.

I have worked for Barry Dinsmore for the last 15 years and you are not getting the whole story on this forum. The Fender Mender does many things above and beyond to serve their customers.
I had to go on a trip and needed new tires and Barry bought my tires for me. He has loaned me money to pay my taxes when I couldn't. I met my wife through Barry and his wife and my wife is the love of my life. Barry has taken us on family company trips as appreciation for our hard work. We have gone to Las Vegas, Disneyworld, Cancun and several camping trips together. We are family at Fender Mender and I credit that atmosphere to the owner.
Barry started this shop 20 years ago as a family business. His mother worked in the office.
The hardest thing we ever had to do was work on a car someone committed suicide in. The insurance agent called and asked us to clean this car up because the family was so upset. Barry told us, he knew this would be tough, but we needed to do this for the family.
We had a teacher bring in a globe the kids had dropped and damaged. She asked if we could fix it, which we did - out of kindness. As a result the kids sent a thank you card to us. A lady who just picked up her car last week brought us a cake in appreciation for the great work we did. That happens all the time.
Barry is always giving customers a loaner car, on his dime because they don't have rental insurance or he pays for the rental.
Don't be fooled by some ONE person who had a bad experience. Remember it takes two to make an argument.
I am grateful for all Fender Mender has done for me as a person and as an employee.

quoted from Dfwstangs the person who started all the trash. Guess there is "karma"

"For everything that you guys have been through, I'd just like to say I'm sorry Never in a million years did I think all of this would happen, just for posting a negative review of a shop. I'm still just blown away by everything thats happened.

My relationship(which was already pretty rocky) is now a complete bust because of this mess. And my business may end up suffering also. With the relationship going south, I may end up loosing the house(even though she can't afford it). If this happens, and I can not find another place with a garage, then I will have to close the detailing business.

All because I posted a negative review of a shop online.

To all involved, I'd just like to say that I am truely sorry for the mess you guys are involved in. Never in a million years would I of thought that this would create so many problems for so many people. I'm going to keep working the detailing business, and going to try and keep the house. If this fails, I will need to find another place with a garage in order to keep the business going. If I am unable to find a place, then I will have to close my business.

I guess in the end Fender Mender wins. "

Obviously you didn't expect Fender Mender to try and protect thier reputation. Anytime you go out with a vendetta, it usually bites you on the butt.

Google their name, read the thread for yourselves.*I* understood FM trying to defend themselves up to their complete and total lack of professionalism.

If any of the other rumors/stories are true (Showing up at customer's house, calling employers...etc) this company is not a company worth the hassle.

this company is again a family business as stated up above, the only reason anyone showed up at this house was for the protection of a family member of which the man brought into his thread of bashing a people get to read the edited version of what the moderater wants you to read for the police made him take it off the web page

I was just going to leave true negative but sensible comment but I can't believe what I'm reading. Is Nidi Mr Dinsmore sister or lawyer. She never less is his spokesperson.
I Have talked to several local people that advised me never to take my car to this shop but I did and truly regret it. But apparently nothing like some do. I will agree that Mr Dinsmore does have a case of little man syndrome and the shop has a strong sent of bullying it's way threw problems. I am curious how a small shop like this could afford the trips to Las Vegas, Disney world, Cancun so/on for it's employees. It surely sounds like Mr dawg is trying to smooth things over. Maybe hes the one that burnt holes in my seats. And Miss nidi I am curious to how you will respond to this I also wonder why Barry can't speak for himself. Owell I rate him with a failing grade and will take my car some where else to fix his f ups. take care and thank you.

Good shop, good people, good work!

I had my car in for repairs after it was keyed. When I got it back, there were abrasion/swirl marks in the paint - maybe the buffer guy was new or, used to much compound? I spoke to Barry (the owner) and he had his employee (Jason) drive to my house and leave his personal vehicle while my car was rebuffed. I have an infant and it was much easier for me if someone just came and got my car. Jason brought my car back around 5pm and it looked great. I don't know of another shop that would have done this. I would go back again.

I LOVE this shop! Barry's crew did very good work, but what really impressed me was that they noticed that the interior driver's door handle had come loose and they repaired it. It was not part of the incident for which the car was in the shop, nor did I ask them to fix it. The genius of that gesture is that every time I close my door now, I think of what great work they did! Highly recommended.

I took our car to fender mender and had a quote written. The quote was high and we decided to sell our car. We called the secretary and informed her of the situation and she said it was okay to leave the car for a few days. When we showed up with the individuals to purchase the vehicle from us the next day, the owner of fender mender started screaming at my wife and I about him writing up a quote for nothing and screamed at the people purchasing the car for stealing business from him. He had my wife in tears, told us we had 30 min to get the car off his property and kicked the new owners of the vehicle off his property. He has multiple bad reviews on Yahoo and Google for the exact same behavior but we had not looked at his business on the internet before taking the car to him. Hopefully the new owners were able to retrieve the car from his lot the next day. I see that many other people on Google and Yahoo have had similar experiences. Hopefully they will follow up their complaints with a BBB complaint as well as reviews here and also write to their their insurance companies to ask them to stop using Fender Mender. Hopefully the owner Barry will seek counseling or psychiatric care for his anger management issues so this behavior will not continue with future customers.
