I hope they shut them all down. To the owners and the patrons, good riddance. Clearly not the kind of upstanding and intelligent people that make a city strong and vibrant, so, goodbye. Same goes for the rest of you who think that legality doesn't matter. This is a community of people, and this community does not want your criminal activity anymore. Goodbye and good luck.

in response to the stuck up person that says only low lifes go to gamerooms..live and let live... who cares...... You people griping and moaning about things such as this have too much damn time on your hands....... Go find you a hobby and leave gamers their hobby... Get a life. And quit judging and stereotyping.. You can not say what types of people go to gamerooms. All kinds of people go to gamerooms. And how would you know anyway unless you have been to one you hippocrit.

I DONT SEE WHY THEY SHOULD SHUT THE GAME ROOMS DOWN... LIKE SOMEONE SAID JUST HAVE THEM GO BY RULES... MOST OF THE GAME ROOMS THAT I HAVE BEEN TO THEY ALWAYS ID YOU BEFORE YOU GO IN AND THEY ARE NICE PEOPLE AND STUFF... I NEVER FEEL LIKE I AM IN ANY KIND OF DANGER WHILE I THERE..
I agree 100 percent But they have just about shut them all down now I really miss going to them but I dont know where any that are safe and are open |

I've been to game rooms, in different cities, over the years. I've had nothing but good experiences; and met some very nice people.
You don't have to go to a game room to find child molesters. Go to church. I didn't see, "Thou shalt not take part in gaming" as one of the Ten Commandments, either. If you don't want to get held up at gunpoint, then avoid your driveway, and don't answer your front door. Shootings happen in nice neighborhoods all the time. You are not offering the molesters, drug abusers, and other criminal element, anything they don't already have. They are already using their open invitation to you. |

How do you report a illegal game room? I know of one that ALL that goes in there are drug dealers and addicts!!
Isn't horse racing gambling? Yet the metroplex supports one called Lone Star Park, and hey, you can bring your kids too. Race tracks make far more money to pay off the states. Maybe it's these establishments that don't like smaller game rooms to sip from thier cup.
The game rooms breed other criminal activity. There are some good people that are customers, but the majority of the customers are criminals. Bottom line is it is illegal and the owners know it is. The city cannot just shut the places down because the owners claim they are legal. The owners force law enforcement to spend SEVERAL hours in order to prove they are operating illegally. You can argue that Texas should legalize gambling, but this is the wrong forum...it is illegal! Some game rooms will not allow you entry unless they know you. They tell customers that you have to have a membership card, then when you tell them you don't have one and want one, they tell you they are not taking any new members.
The horse racing is legal! Wrong forum to argue that. These game rooms with about 50 machines are bringing in about 1,000,000 every six months and not paying the appropriate taxes. Why not cook meth and sell it? Several people bring their kids to meth cooks. I guess the larger cooks may not like the smaller cooks sipping from their cup...my bad.

I've been to all the gamerooms in arlington, and I am not a lowly type person, I enjoyed meeting people, Yes there should be some kind of restrictions, taxes, how you pay out etc. But the city of Arlington allowed these type places since the late 90's. Then they need to fill their cups with money so they bust them. They can't stop this activity, there are alot of underground gamerooms all over Arlington. If you want to play you'll find them. Why should we go to OK or LA to spend our money .. Arlington needs to get some kind of regulations and let them stay open. Look at Dave and Busters.. so get with it Arlington, you can't stop these people from opening..
