Brevity in text messages and common typos I can tolerate. If you are using a QWERTY keyboard, brevity makes no sense. When I see a poorly written message, I generally tend to ignore it and the opinion of the writer. If you want to influence my opionion on anything, at least show me you are smart enough to form a coherent presentation of your ideas.
Please understand that some people are dyslexic and CANNOT learn the way non-dyslexics do. If the writer is dyslexic, that is the best he/she can do. And there are also some folks who just never learned to read or write. So take it easy.

I agree that dyslexics have problems that non-dyslexics don't have to deal with. However, I read a lot of Louisiana forums and judging from a LOT of posts, there seems to be a overabundance of dyslexics in Louisiana if that is the case. My main problem with showing your ignorance is just that, showing your ignorance. It perpetuates the stereotypical view of the south in general and Louisiana in particular.

If you are dyslexic, start your post with "I'm dyslexic" and I'll cut you some slack. After all, these forums are supposedly "anonymous", so no one will know who you really are unless you reveal it yourself.

As for the people who never learned to read and write, well if they can't read and write, I doubt they are posting in these forums.

It does tend to perpetuate the Southern ignorance myth. But let someone try to screw with a Cajun and they're in for a surprise. Many Cajuns who continue to speak the way their ancestors did are college grads who are quite intelligent. For some reason they continue to use their own language. Ex. ask is "aks". I don't understand why they do it.

I speak with a Cajun accent and have all my life. I also speak French. Je peux ecrire ceci en francais comme l'anglais. Whenever I have traveled "up nort", I've found my accent can work both ways. Some take it as a sign of ignorance. While on the other hand, mais, a lot uv dem Yankee women dey find it sexy fa sho. Especially when I speak French. LOL

Maybe I'm a little oversensitive about the southern stereotype because I've traveled all over and have seen it first hand all over. If so, I don't apologize. As probably the only ethnicity (white male) that no one worries about if we are offended, I'm glad I've finally found something to be offended by, as trivial as it may seem. LMAO

Hey OB
Are you that awesome MD that did my hyst? If so, I think you are an incredible physician, and miss all of you in Eunice. Besides all of that, I absolutely love your post name. It is so suitable-in "our" business, we do see alot of girls spread 'em, too, don't we? When that baby starts coming out, what else is a girl to do? LOL.

to my generous clinton, la. groupies who follow my posts continuously....i am thrilled by your obsession with me, and thank you both for the offbeat jewelry that you add to my every comment. it makes me feel so very special to know you care more about my opinions, than cutting hair or teaching little children. God bless you both. If you would be courageous enough to post, i would give you some icon jewelry also, but it would be nice icon jewelry because unlike you, i am a NICE lady. Happy New Year, J and MA.
