Could someone please explain to me why KY wants to ship thoroughbreds to Mexico when most of the racetracks in this country cannot fill their racing cards?????
And why would you want to send thoroughbreds to a country that disposes of thoroughbreds through a horrific slaughter process when they are done racing?
And what the heck is the Mexican Association for equine development and Promotion??? Google it and other than this press release, there is no information or contact numbers.

Shipping these horses, the heart and soul of Kentucky to a place like Mexico is the most disloyal thing I've seen in a while. Kentucky disgraces itself with this kind of greed. There are plenty of races to be run in the U.S.
Too, there have been many recent news articles about the heinous end that horses meet when they are no longer "useful." Slaughter that can be only described as torturous.
Kentucky should be ashamed.

Wow, Im just stunned that Kentucky would show such blatant disregard for the well being of our Thoroughbred athletes. Mexico essentially has absolutely no humane laws or standards. Sending our horses to a country which considers the barbaric practice of horse tripping to be a form of "entertainment", and whose idea of Thoroughbred "retirement" is a brutal death in a slaughter plant, is positively unconscionable.

What the heck is wrong with you KY? Americans racing fans want to know that our equine athletes are protected from abuse and needless suffering, and here you are shipping them off to a country that is known the world over for their cruel treatment and slaughter of horses.

The great state of KY, the blue grass country, who in the world would ever come up wiht an idea to send the beautifull KY horses to an unspeakble cruel life in Mexico? The unfortunate horses who are being sent there now by the killer buyers is dispicabble and horses are suffering immeasurably. Sending any horse to Mexico is a death sentence pure and simple. The Mexicans for what ever reason are cruel and unfeeling towards horses and use them to the last ounce of life is gone and then send them for spine servering for a long death. How this plan will never enhance how people look at KY ever again. Betrayal is what it is.

And what happens to our noble equines sent from Kentucky to Mexico, when they are old? They are stabbed to death!

Shame, shame...this should not be happening! Who came up with this idiotic idea?

It's time that Americans took responsibility for their actions and realized that money is not the answer to all things.

I hope that someone in their right mind will stop this, before any of our horses are traded in this moronic scheme.

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Libra

It's another day when tensions are rife and you feel stretched to breaking point. You might even totally lose your temper with someone, instead of merely snapping at them as you did yesterday. Mars stomps into reverse today, so it would be better to clear the air now with a row, and then forget all about it, rather than allowing bad feelings to accumulate and fester inside you.
