Where are the people who talk about police beating up people? THIS is why police have to take every precaution when they arrest someone. The general public never seems to remember people like this.

Cops being babies again about doing their jobs. Do you see military members crying about getting shot at or shot, blown up, etc? No you don't. Since you, the police, are getting paid and its in your job description to arrest those who don't want to be arrested then stop crying about it.

Ok, so because there are idiots like this guy on the streets of our city, it is therefore justified when police run over the wheelchair bound in crosswalks, and try to cover it up, or they beat up a vagrant sitting at a bus stop and then threaten to arrest a nurse that comes to the old man's aid.
What happened is just par for the course. I'm sure that liberal amounts of disability, and worker's compensation will lesson the sting.

Hopefully the cop that was bitten will be checked out for rabies and distemper, never mind HIV and all the rest of what the public is now carrying.

This is very bad to put on himself and assault a police offer. hit and run charges , he could be faceing some serious time in jail. A young man so young should not mess up his life. he should be doing something positive in life.be come something than crimial.

No, certainly not justified. I'm talking about the people who think that police do nothing BUT beat people up. They don't. Anyone who does is an idiot. The point is, that the general public does not comment about knotheads like this NEAR as much as when a cop is even accused of beating someone up. Of course they get accused every 5 seconds. So far, all I've seen is 11 or 12 comments on this. The usual amount of coments where a cop is accused, is generally over 50 or 60.

Maybe there is a significant portion of society who has either been victimized or knows of credible people who have been victimized by police lying, abusing authority, profiling based on their personal issues, etc. Anyone who has first hand experiences of that type knows that police show a united front and no cop will ever be seen publicly taking action to stop another cop behaving in such a reprehensible manner or otherwise acknowledge what they saw to the victim. The fact that their disciplinary records are confidential gives the public the impression that their complaints are ignored. Add to that the fact that the police are the point men in a ridiculous police state abuse of the freedom we deserve as represented by drug laws and alcohol age restrictions that are draconian compared to other democracies. Its called hatred, they reap what they have sown.

Oh really?????

You and others need to visit the Albemarle General district court website and take a long look at the record of one Jeremiah A Carter.

This "victim of da man" has an entire page to his credit.

Take the time to look these guys up before crying over them.

The vast majority are not first time offenders.

That means no insurance folks and when one of these guys hits you your only hope is that your auto insurance policy and whatever insurance you might have at work has coverage limits that will help you, possibly, learn to walk again and cover your hospital bills. Check your auto insurance policy! The state says 50K of coverage for each person's bodily injury is enough for your insurance policy. I put 50K at about two days in intensive care at our hospital. These guys tend to have no money, no insurance, and even if a court gives you a judgment it is meaningless.

He has had 3 speeding tickets, each more than 20 mph over the speed limit.

He was charged with being drunk in public---DIP---at the time of his assault of the two cops! And what was he being arrested for while in this condition? Hmm, perhaps HIT AND RUN????? Wake up people.

Too bad NBC29 missed that one, right? Boy the public court records help fill in the gaps for young, inexperienced, or just maybe "politically correct" pseudo reporters!

This is just the penny ante stuff from district court. I wonder what lies in the circuit court files that the public doesn't have access to?

Figure it out.

Do not settle for the "sound byte" that a cub reporter throws at you!
