Troubled bridge

The Federal Water Pollution Control Amendments of 1972 and subsequent clean water acts cleansed rivers around the nation, including the Connecticut River separating Vermont and New Hampshire.

Reminds me of the mighty Arch Bridge in Bellows Falls that was deemed unsafe to even foot traffic and for 10 years sat there and in the end not even several attemps to blow it up could send the bridge to its doom.

The Vilas bridge we crossed everyday was closed in one day and really was a wake up call about all our bridges and the disrepair that is allowed.
