I have bought classic Volkswagens from here, not only did I get them cheep, the "Non-Running" ones fired up with only a new battery and fuel. Do your research before buying. I made great deals by just not doing spur of the moment bidding.

I also worked there. It is a horrid place to work and staff is underpaid. I know as I was a manager and fielded many concerns from staff about pay. COPART IS A SCAM due to all the hidden charges, fees, and we were specifically told not to accept "Buy Backs" but to remind buyers of Terms and Conditions.
Regional Managers are the lowest form of scum who push staff for every nickel they can squeeze from a buyer.
The most comical thing from training in Fairfield, CA. was the trainers saying, "Meeting the executive staff is like meeting rock stars!" I kid you not they said that. Look, you're dealing with car salesman, that's bad enough. Now you're dealing with junk car salesmen. You're working with morons.
Luckily my normal career called me back from a layoff.
I also worked at Copart and can tell you that everyone "above" the yard level is a complete moron who thinks that he's the end-all be-all of used cars. They stink of overinflated ego and have only landed their "prestigious" positions at Copart from hanging around for years like an 3-legged junkyard dog who couldn't make it anywhere else.

I worked for the Copart Direct division and bought vehicles from the public for pennies on the dollar then turned around and sold them at the auction locations. Other "Vehicle Purchasing Agents" would buy vehicles with known problems and either delete the information when it went to auction or would not tell the yard selling the vehicle about the problem(s). Once the buyer took it off the lot they were pretty much stuck with it. Beware of their shady practices and unethical corporate office that turns a blind eye when it's more much profitable (in the short term) to be dishonest. Their Purchasing Agents are paid 100% commission with no regards to ethics and worst of all no accountability whatsoever.

<quoted text> You would expect them to be honest. Sometimes the cars are in another state and not easy to go look at. But you ould also go look at the cars and the floor mats and manuals will be there but when you bid on the car and win it is all missing. Bought a Lexus gx470 one time and all the interior peices were taken from them. The headliner alone was $1200!
what in the hell would we want with your stupid floor mats and manuals I get paid more by the hour than what that crap would bring on ebay you are out of your mind come on let's here somemore of your ranting we are cracking up.

That's the car business, the reason being, that you say you got " scammed" is because your not even a licensed used car dealer and you skirt the system by using another car dealer, here is what you should do, Call the Attorney Generals office and log a complaint against, Copart, the insurance company, and the Shady dealer that represented you, But remember your a shady character yourself, for skirting you're States license Law.
I am a real Car dealer who sells his Junk through Copart all the time, but I don't misrepresent it, and I get close to retail prices, because of Un-licensed wannabe Dealers paying to much for cars, and Love Copart.

Yeah their fee structure is really pretty bad if you're a regular or "free" member. If you bought a $5,000 vehicle you will pay a 12% buyers premium (fee), plus $75 if you placed the bid from anywhere except the kiosk at the Copart yard plus $30 just for someone to further damage it by using a forklift to move it off the lot.

This is how Copart makes sure that the only one "Winning" is them.

i have had about 10 cars from copart.i mainly deal with santoft and york depots as they are closest.i never go and view the cars before bidding and i have had only one bad car.the only thing i dont like is all the fees they add to the final price.i put all extra fees into consideration when i bid.i only ever run copart cars now and sell them on.i allways make sure they are safe and i have never had any complains from my buyers.if you try to stick with small damage then you should be fine.you can expect a little wear and tear.some cars are realy bad but i leave them alone.i cant complain with what i have had so far.you can visit acar auction and view the car yourself there would be a garanteed problem

I just lost 1800$ because Copart lies and tell you something about the car and you find something else. When I told them to give me my money back, they refused. I know they know how to cover themselves so I am not bothering to go to court and lose more money. However, if there is anyone who can help me with advice, please do so. Because it is a lot of money and it seems I am not the only victim.
I wounder, how can they do that to people with full autonomy in this great country. we must do somthing.

The hidden fees is what kills your deal. That 10 percent deposit you dont get back 425 buyer fee internet fee 75 gate fee 30 then that is the taxable price so a bid of 2100 totals 2822.oo That was not what I signed up for.Im sure they get a cut from the insurance co. as well. what a racket.
