I was in a union in a closed shop. One of the worst experiences of my life. Union was garbage. And, yes, it was part of a national union, AFL-CIO. Unions may have been useful at one time. However, they worthless now and only serve to the line the pockets of the union bosses.

Just where can I find me one of these great union jobs? Most of them have left the country, and the few that remain are packing up.

You really should inform yourself. The threat to those union jobs is not Mitch McConnell--It's Barack Obama and the Democrats that passed Obamacare (without McConnell's vote).
Three Major U.S. Unions Have Sent A Scathing Open Letter To Democratic Leaders That ObamaCare Will Destroy The Foundation Of The 40 Hour Work Week That Is The Backbone Of The Middle Class. The leaders of three major U.S. unions, including the highly influential Teamsters, have sent a scathing open letter to Democratic leaders in Congress, warning that unless changes are made, President Obamas health care reform plan will destroy the foundation of the 40 hour work week that is the backbone of the American middle class.(Tom Gara,Union Letter: ObamaCare Will Destroy The Very Health And Wellbeing Of Workers, The Wall Street Journal , 7/12/13)
Teamsters, UFCW, and UNITE-HERE Letter To Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) And Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA): Our Support For You And ObamaCare Has Come Back To Haunt Us.Like millions of other Americans, our members are front-line workers in the American economy. We have been strong supporters of the notion that all Americans should have access to quality, affordable health care. We have also been strong supporters of you. In campaign after campaign we have put boots on the ground, gone door-to-door to get out the vote, run phone banks and raised money to secure this vision. Now this vision has come back to haunt us.(James P. Hoffa International Brotherhood Of Teamsters, Joseph Hansen UFCW, D. Taylor UNITE-HERE, Letter To Leader Reid And Leader Pelosi , 7/12/13)
Unions Are Strong Supporters Of Democrats, Spending Millions To Re-elect Obama And Help Democrats Retain Its Senate Majority. When President Barack Obama pushed his health care overhaul plan through Congress, he counted labor unions among his strongest supporters. Labor unions have been among the presidents closest allies, spending millions of dollars to help him win re-election and help Democrats keep their majority in the Senate.(Sam Hananel,Some Unions Now Angry About Health Care Overhaul, The Associated Press, 5/24/13)
Labor Unions Are Breaking With President Obama On ObamaCare.Labor unions are breaking with President Obama on ObamaCare. Months after the presidents reelection, a variety of unions are publicly balking at how the administration plans to implement the landmark law. They warn that unless there are changes, the results could be catastrophic.(Kevin Brogadus,Unions Break Ranks On ObamaCare, The Hills Health Watch, 5/21/13)
Some Unions Are Calling For Repeal Or A Complete Overhaul Of ObamaCare.Last month, the president of the United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers released a statement calling for repeal or complete reform of the Affordable Care Act.(Kevin Brogadus,Unions Break Ranks On ObamaCare, The Hills Health Watch, 5/21/13)

I have voted for McConnell in the past but will not this time. He has been in the Senate too long and I can't think of anything he has done except somehow get rich. Its time these old politicians retire. He entered the Senate 30 years ago and we are worse off today than then.
#6 Jul 18, 2013
I will never vote for him agin he is useless for KY anyone but him........Ditch Mitch now and YES I am a Repub.
#7 Jul 18, 2013
Politicians are all rich but mitch married money. He probably does as much for KY as any senator has.
#8 Jul 18, 2013
He will probably win again cause all the money he can raise because he sels on to the highest bidder. Obama is very unpopular in Kentucky.if Grimes was running in a Norteastern state she would win in a landslide. go Grimes!
#9 Jul 18, 2013
Yep, married a Chinese shipping magnate's daughter. Am curious, what has he done for Kentucky? Bet he has done more for Chinese shipping and trade than Kentucky.
#10 Jul 18, 2013
What do you think mitch has failed to do for KY that is required of of a united states senator? If you are just "making bets" you must not know. If you don't know which laws he has helped write or which laws he has supported or voted against that would help KY you shouldn't be making bets.
#11 Jul 18, 2013
Why don't you tell us what he has done for Kentucky..........What did he say his #1 job was ?....... and he failed at that.
#12 Jul 18, 2013
fuckthe unions, because of them twinkies went off the market for months and are only now coming back
#13 Jul 18, 2013
Smaller, without union labor....but they still cost the same...???
#14 Jul 18, 2013
The most recent thing he has done for KY and the country was to vote NO to the senate amnesty bill. The CBO said the amnesty would cost $6.5 Trillion dollars, increase unemployment, decrease wages and would not prevent future illegal immigration. The bill was not
good for KY or the country.
You should keep up with how Mitch votes on the senate bills if you want to know what he is doing for KY.

Now, Here's Mitch's comment about making Obama a one-term president in the context it was made.
Oct. 23, 2010, Q&A interview with the National Journal just prior to the midterm elections.
McConnell: We need to be honest with the public. This election is about them, not us. And we need to treat this election as the first step in retaking the government. We need to say to everyone on Election Day,Those of you who helped make this a good day, you need to go out and help us finish the job.
National Journal: Whats the job?
McConnell: The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.
National Journal: Does that mean endless, or at least frequent, confrontation with the president?
McConnell: If President Obama does a Clintonian backflip, if hes willing to meet us halfway on some of the biggest issues, its not inappropriate for us to do business with him.
National Journal: What are the big issues?
McConnell: It is possible the presidents advisers will tell him he has to do something to get right with the public on his levels of spending and [on] lowering the national debt. If he were to heed that advice, he would, I imagine, find more support among our conference than he would among some in the Senate in his own party. I dont want the president to fail; I want him to change. So, well see. The next move is going to be up to him.
In a speech at the Heritage Foundation just after the 2010 midterm elections, McConnell expanded on his comments:
McConnell, Nov. 4, 2010: Over the past week, some have said it was indelicate of me to suggest that our top political priority over the next two years should be to deny President Obama a second term in office. But the fact is, if our primary legislative goals are to repeal and replace the health spending bill; to end the bailouts; cut spending; and shrink the size and scope of government, the only way to do all these things is to put someone in the White House who wont veto any of these things. We can hope the President will start listening to the electorate after Tuesdays election. But we cant plan on it.

I guess Clinton was in the White House in 1990 when the Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990 was signed by GEORGE H.W. Bush. Maybe he was in office when it was amended in 2008 by, oh well, that was GEORGE W. BUSH.
I guess you better take Number 23 out of your list because it show just how stupid you are because it was signed and updated by republican presidents. Clinton was president from Jan. 1993-Jan. 2001.
The 1964 Civil Rights Act had far more Republican support than democrat support if you bother to read the voting records on the act.

#25. I guess you haven't noticed that Obama is taking away our privacy rights as we speak.
#20 Jul 19, 2013
#29. This law must not be effective since Obama has been trying to pass the same law again and again. LOL
