WASHINGTON, DC – House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) released the following statement after Senate Democrats adjourned for a week-long recess without passing any legislation addressing student loan interest rates, which are set to double July 1st:

“Millions of American students and their families are about to pay the price for the stubbornness and partisanship of Senate Democratic leaders. It is stunning that Senate Democrats would leave town having done nothing to prevent interest rates on college loans from doubling. Earlier this year, the president called for a market-based interest rate for student loans. House Republicans responded by passing one. Senate Democrats responded with scorn and inaction. The inability of the president and leaders of his party in Congress to come together will now mean higher borrowing costs for students already coping with skyrocketing tuition bills. This Democratic infighting is exactly why we have to take politics out of student loans and put in place a permanent solution. The president must urge his fellow Democrats to pass a market-based solution as soon as they return so that we can right this wrong and give our kids a better shot at the American dream.”

This is the a continuation of the Democrat's war on children. They apparently want the ones that escape abortion to be dumbed down Democrat voters depending on the government to take care of them.

Now....for the rest of the story and the truth.

Democrats? This is a bipartisan issue.

Let's be clear on some facts vs blanket statement that's anti-Democrat shall we?

Firstly, this does NOT apply to existing loans. It would only apply to new loans.

I truly like the idea to combat this, we close the loophole that when people INHERIT IRA's or 401k's, disallow them to defer the tax for years ahead. When an IRA is inherited, it has LOST his ability to be declared as "earned income". The person inheriting those qualified plans did not earn it. The option to defer it until the stated age under the original ownership should not be inherited.

You see, we simply have to stop this money continuing to go to money, while everyone else has to pay the price for it.

P.S. But of course, Republicans, on behalf of their wealthy constituents would fight my choice only to allow students to have to pay double. That's simply how they operate. They want to complain about the deficit, but if you step one foot on the rich man's turf, they don't think it should work like that.

Obama doesn't address something...they complain;
Obama does address something...they complain.

It's like Bill Clinton told an Anchor guy IN HIS FACE "you people complained because you wanted this and I hadn't done it; then I did it and you complained; it's impossible to make you people happy". Yep, that's what Clinton got IN HIS FACE and said to him! I loved it. I loved more the "in the face" part of it though!
