what has to happen in order for our local police to enforce our school zones. last year i watched almost everyone driving at 20/30 miles over the posted limit including our local law enforcement.

Very Easy Answer. No decent police chief to see that the law is enforced. Just about all of our schools are in the city limits and you never see a police car patrolling these area's, especially just before school starts and after school ends each day. And don't even think about calling the mayors office for help..........he's never in!!!!!!!!!!

Only 4 schools are in the city of London. The city police provide an officer at Londons cross walk, has school officers at both of the High Schools and Middle Schools, and I think Sublimity is in the city limits, not sure what they do there. That leaves 9 other schools in the county. So basically what you just said is a lie.

South Laurel High School, South Laurel Middle School, North Laurel High School, North Laurel Middle School, Sublimity Elementary, and London Elementary are all in the city.

Exactly what I said. Although the North Laurel High and Middle are different campuses they are considered to be part of the same school, and south Laurel is considered to be part of the same school, and is on the same campus.

the one at London School is a safety officer...the others at the schools do not patrol the roads they stay in the buildings or on campus and does not do traffic control.

the middle schools are in no way shape or form considered to be part of the same school. They had different school ID numbers, different staff, different names, different phone numbers, different addresses, different listings on laurel county schools website, and so on.

I see your point and stand corrected. Make that six schools on five campuses in the city, and nine schools in the rest of the county if you count East Bernstadt, and Cornerstone. Actually, does anyone know how many campuses Cornerstone currently has? Do they just have one school, or are their classes in multiple locations?

When all is said and done, I agree people should slow down in the school zones and avoid a possible catastrophic accident.

I thought Sublimity was in the city limits. I think the left side of the road coming off of 1006 is in the city limits, and the right side of the road is outside of the city limits, but I may be wrong.

I don't appreciate you calling me a liar London Teach. I said just about all of the schools are in the city limits, not all. Six out of nine should qualify for "just about all". Sublimity school is inside the city limits. There is a crossing guard at London City, not patrolman. Take a drive down north main street sometime right after school lets out. I have lost count of the times I've seen cars and trucks pass school buses while they're unloading our children. If you have small children, you know as well as I do that when they get off that bus, there is no telling which way they will run. It's not only in the city limits but all the way down 25 and into East Bernstadt. The city and county police needs to step up patrols during loading and unloading hours as well as around the schools, no matter how many schools we have.

you should be out around Cold Hill Elementary School between 2:30 and 3:15 in the afternoon. That is a total nightmare. An accident waiting to happen. People waiting to pick up their children will be lined up on 192 as far back a a 1/2 mile, this is an accident waiting to happen. Someone is gonna get kilt there or hurt really bad.
