Chilli With Coffee Cooked In It

2 tablespoons oil
2 lbs ground beef
2 cups chopped onions
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
3 cloves garlic, crushed
3 tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin
1 (16 ounce) can tomatoes, chopped
2 cups strong coffee
1 cup water
1 (4 ounce) can chopped green chilies
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Cook ground beef, oil, onions, green pepper and garlic until beef is browned.
Stir in chili powder and cumin.
Add tomatoes, coffee, water, chilies, salt and pepper.
Simmer covered 1 hour, then cook an additional hour uncovered.
Serve over cooked rice.

coffee is good in lots of things.
fry some fresh killed ham in the skillet.
after you fry it, scald the rest of the skillet out in strong coffee. pour it over the ham in the bowl that you have just fried.
this is called red eye gravy, and its good over the top of your regular gravy and biscuits.

the skyline chili brand(cincinnati based)uses hershey raw coco (bakeing) in their chili and people go nutts for it check the price of a 1 way (spag&chilli) at krogers it is unreal i know this post is about adding coffee but i thought i would add this too this post the only reason i know this info is i worked with a guy for 18yrs he ended with one of the owners that started skyline chilli daughters and when they hooked up as a wedding present they were given a skyline chilli store in cincinnati on colerain ave.....
