Westboro Baptist Church has it in their listings to picket a military funeral in Corbin on the 20th. Are there any groups planning on standing up to them or blocking the path?
And before this turns into a debate just let me say that my desire to help block them is my opinion and my right, just as it is theirs to do as they desire.

If I didn't have to work, I would. I think all God fearing Americans should be out there shielding the family from this crazy group. They are a cult not a religious organization. Contact the local Veterans groups...I bet they would help.

If you enjoy your freedoms then please show up at the funeral of SSGT Ryan Austin U S Air Force
Killed on Active Duty The services and times are as follows;
Corbin Funeral Home
1382 W. Cumberland Gap Prkwy.
Corbin, Kentucky. 40701
Visitation: Monday 19 August, 2013
5 p.m. to 9 p.m. hrs. family @ 4 p.m. hrs.
Stage @ the Funeral Home @ 3:30 p.m.
Funeral Service: Tuesday 20 August, 2013
11a.m.

To allow anyone to cause this family any more grief than they are going through should be at all cost averted. I would be there and stand for the family but I live twelve hours away. Say a prayer for his loved ones, remember there are two people who are/were willing to die for you, God and a military person.

Memorial of: Staff Sgt. Ryan Austin Tuesday, August 20th 2013, at 10:15 a.m. 1382 Cumberland Gap Parkway, Corbin, KY

The listing above does show up in the press release section of the westboro church's website. It doesn't say they are going to protest per se but I am not sure, be there for family either way, they deserve all the love and support they can get at this time of great loss.

I hope they are not here, if they are....*gasp* they may want to STAY here, because they may find a PERMANENT HOME HERE!

Why is that you ask? Well, it's quite, easy, nearly almost ALL of the so called "believers" in this area act JUST LIKE THEM.

They are hateful, legalistic, love legalistic traditions, they love to talk bad about people while in church, they don't like people asking questions even if they are well meaning questions.

And most of the pastors in this area love to yell and scream during their sermons like they are having a heart attack. They probably love to drink and they may deal meth and pills on the side when they are not "preaching".

They are nothing but hypocritical Fred Phelps wannabes. And there is probably a special place in hell for all of you legalistic fake losers!

Can someone tell me why "in the name of God" did this church protest want to protest this funeral? They should be thanking him and his family for their sacrifice.

I was there at the funeral home at 10:00am as a veteran. The patriot guard was there and some local veterans such as myself. Ky. State Police had two cruisers as well as some sherries vehicles. The Patriot Guard and Police escorted the funeral procession to Harlan. The family proceeded to Cawood to the Fields Cemetery. It's a hard place to get to so the P. Guard was ask to ride just to Harlan. I've not heard that anything occurred after leaving Corbin, in Harlan or in Cawood. I'm a Vet. The so called religious aspect of the fanatics is unfounded.

Fanaticism anywhere is bad news. I've heard some strange concepts put forth from pulpits. Also Politics is another area of Fanaticism.

What people believe is????? Well it's something to cling to over coffee at Mc Donald's in the morning or at night in the dark. Oh yea! It's also handy when you pass judgement on those around you.

Society, civilization; likes to pigeon hole everything and everybody. Right, Wrong. Correct and incorrect.

It's the nature of the beast!

Speak for your own church--not mine--the good, God fearing people around here will not stand for those so called christians coming to desecrate a good man's funeral. You are entitled to your opinion, but I guess it will all come out in the wash now won't it. May God Bless you and Westboro, but most of all Ryan's family.
