Never thought I would be agreeing with an article from Fox News, but this one makes a lot of sense:

<quoted text>The point is this: President Obama did not draw the line that you imply that he did.

I repeat, in his so-called “red line” statement, President Obama said,“We cannot stand by and permit the systematic use of weapons like chemical weapons on civilian populations.”

There has been no "systematic" use of chemical weapons. There have been a few isolated incidents, with casualties numbering 100-150. In a vicious two-sided fight that has killed 93,000 people, on both sides, 100-150 casualties does not constitute systematic use of chemical weapons. In fact, the low number is evidence against systematic use. It strongly indicates small, unauthorized incidents. If chemicals were used systematically the casualty figures would be much, much higher.
CNN is stating he did make the statement. I will try and find the video to see.

You are right. That definitely makes good sense. Kathleen Troia is a good trustworthy source.

"Most"??? I think for myself. I don't remember saying nothing about CNN so I have no clue to what you are referencing. I've never reported any party affiliation either. It appears you have made a lot of assumptions.

Nothing in the Middle East is ever simple.

http://www.foxnews.com/world/2013/06/17/in-ci...

The Kurds are Sunni Muslims, but they tend to be secular in outlook. Also, Kurds are are not Arabs. They are an Indo-European people.

Big complicating factor here: Turkey (NATO ally) has a large Kurdish minority with their own separatist nationalist aspirations.

Were talking now more, new interventions, I say until we know what were doing, until we have a commander in chief who knows what hes doing well, in these radical Islamic countries arent even respecting basic human rights, when both sides are slaughtering each other as they scream over an arbitrary red line, Allahu Akbar, I say until we have someone who knows what theyre doing, I say: Let Allah sort it out.
You thought we had a Commander-in-Chief that knew what he was doing when he went into Iraq. We didn't. THAT was the day that started most all of this middle eastern trouble rolling. The Honorable General Colin Powell warned the Commander-in-Chief, but, the Commander-in-Chief didn't listen. If the Indians were here, they'd have done Bush like they did Custer because he "didn't listen".

This statement is fairly accurate. I thought that Saddam had WMDs and supported invading Iraq. Now I know that there were no WMDs. I'm not one of those who buy into the idea that "Bush lied, people died" however. It could be that President Bush and the U.S. intelligence establishment were the victims of a strategic intelligence deception that misled them into thinking that Iraq did have WMDs. I can think of only one nation that benefitted from the invasion of Iraq and has the capability to work such a deception on the U.S.: Israel.

Dr. Drama,
Are you trying to say you wish the Iraqis killed Bush and our military? You are truly a deranged individual.

In April Of 93....Saddam Allegedly Tried To Have George H. W. Bush Assassinated While Visiting Kuwait....About 2 Years After US Led Forces Ran His Ass Out Of There.......

When Little Bushy Took Office....He {Then} was Wanting To Go After Iraq....Even Before September 11, 2001.....He Wanted Revenge.....He Used The Issues Of Terrorist and Weapons Of Mass Destruction as a Needed Excuse....{Yet}....Did Nothing About The Repeated Warnings Of a Possible Attack On Americans Prior To 911....Some Conspiracy Theorist Say He {Allowed It To Happen} Just To Open a Political/Military Avenue Into Iraq....Others Say Little Bushy Was In On The {Plot} Of 911....

We Were Supposedly Attacked By Osama Ben Laden.....And Bush Kills Saddam Hussien???......All The While....Osama Runs Loose For Ten Years After The Attacks......

Republicans Are Always Wanting To Look at {Right Now}....They Dont Want To Discuss The Past....But The Truth Is....In The Eighties....Reagan Supplied Afghanistan With Weapons When They Were Fighting The Soviet Union.....Then Reagan Supplied Iraq With Weapons When They Were Fighting With Iran....

So {Right Now} As The Republicans Like To Say.....Is All Because Republican Ronald Reagan Loaded Up The Muslins From Two Different Nations With Fancy Dangerous Weapons.....

And Twenty Years {Later}???.....Republican George W. Bush Ended Up Spending Trillions Of Dollars In a War With Both Nations at The Same Time Because One Of Them Attacked Us.....And The Other Was Extremely Dangerous To America.....At Least Thats What George W. Bush Said....

Now I dont Know About Israel Being a Beneficiary From The Iraqi War....Other Than Having One Less Nation That Wants To Bomb The Shit Out Of Them....But From What Im Hearing Is That China Is Benefitting On all That Iraqi Oil.....Which I Suppose Is Fair.....They Were The Ones That Financed The War Anyway.....

You are correct I suppose. I cannot remember Obama doing anything. I guess Reagan made a mistake when he said "Mr. Gorbachev tear down that wall!" Yes, that is sarcasm.

You are very spot on about China. I went to Chad a couple of years ago and they were being ran by the Chinese. The pipeline runs from Chad to the Kriby ocean then pumped in Chinese tankers. They paid the politicians well to allow it. I talked with local military and they stated they do not have the man power to take back control. If you are an American they will confiscate your camera and phone at Chinese check points every 25 miles.

The situation relating to Syria is starting to look more and more like the sort of policy muddle that preceded American involvement in Vietnam, only worse. There were just 3 sides to the Vietnam conflict: North, South, and French. Syria is multi-sided within the country, plus a lot of outside actors as well.

http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politi...

At this point, I think the Russians are reading the situation a lot better than the U.S. is. Arms to the rebels will likely only intensify the fighting and lead to the spiral into chaos.

President Bush had the approval of Congress before going into Iraq. And ALL the big wig libtards agreed that Saddam had WMD and had to be stopped. We all know NOW that it was a mistake. But it was an honest one by an honorable man. Of course you are so full of Obama kool-aid that you won't admit it.

The thing about all of that is Bush took all the blame. He didn't blame the Clinton's, Kerry, bad intelligence, etc.
All I've heard from the current administration is blame Bush.

The U.S Should never get involved in a war unless the U.S is directly being attacked. The U.S. has no business in foreign wars and should STAY OUT OF IT!
