Fact: 95% are NOT disabled but now the system! And the only disability the have is being sorry/lazy! If you keep up with the current events in Laurel County and have seen all of the arrest made by the sherife's office, than you will see wo and what your tax dollars are supporting! Welfare, food stamps, free medical, free housing, assistance with heat and electric. To freaking sorry to work but they can drive drunk, sale pills, fight, steal, and vandalize property. But can't work. Everything they have should be taken and sold and all assistance stopped! Enough is enough !

you should quit judging others and being jealous before you end up having a heart attack from all that stress.what tax dollars.all our tax dollars go toward paying off the government debt.they cant manage their money either but yet your are angry at the local people.the government is so in debt they will never see the light of day and yet your biggest concern is the local people.wow wee dont you need to get the government to manage your tax dollars a little better before you go ape ship over laurel county.
with all the education and experience the officials are suppose to have if they cant budget how do you expect poor dumb hicks to.

The facts are southeastern kentucky is well known for generations of whole families to live off government assistance funded by the taxpayers. Most of them for about 3 generations have never worked a public job and never will as long as the freebies keep coming their way. Why should they. Minimum wage jobs would mean they would take a cut in pay plus lose the medical cards. Thats about a no brainer aint it. Until the jobs situation is better and the drug problem is curtailed clay county is stuck in a rut that is going to be hard to get out of.
Couple those problems with the fact that we have a lot of families that put no value on a good education. Education is the key to success. Dont ever let the opportunity to go to school slip by if your still school age. Unless you want to be like uncle leroy and lay around in the shade waiting on your check.
