It looks like Laurel county is the worst place in the state of kentucky to live they have more people arrested and in jail than any other city and look how many thieves that are never caught , if your home gets broken into there is never a finger print taken and no one ever goes to jail for it so why even waste your time reporting it .

Apparently, you and I have two different sheriff's we call. Just recently, two days ago, the sheriffs department received reports of possible drugs being sold in a community here in Laurel County. Unlike past departments, who never checked anything out, John Roots department did and made a Hugh bust. They got over 100 pills off the street from being sold and over $7500 in case! I hope these low life's loose everything they have!! This is the great sheriff we have! He will always have my vote and my families vote!!

Not only will I Vote for John Root but I will encourage everyone I know to vote for him. John and his staff have done more to try to clean up the drug problems in Laurel County than has been done in decades. What the people of Laurel County need to wake up and realize is that without a court system with the balls to back them up, they are literally doing all they can. They can arrest them but they can't make the courts do anything to them. Keep up the GREAT JOB Laurel SO.

John Root is a good man and a fine sheriff and has one of the finest Sheriff's Departments in the state. He said he would wage a war on drugs and he has taken it to the dealers and put them in jail. I say we need John Root for another four years. He has my vote!!!

I swear this person is just pathetic. This is like the tenth post about John Root! Well, it back fired on you again! People in Laurel County aren't stupid, they know a good sheriff and John's a great sheriff. I can't tell you the last time I have read about so many arrest being made by the sheriffs office. Well, yes I can the answer would be ...NEVER! Or when the sheriffs office wasn't being investigated for budgeting issues or spending. John Root runs a clean office as well. As long as this man does good and runs for office, he will always have my vote, my families vote and our subdivision votes!
Why would you want someone gotten rid of who's doing a good job for this county? I can tell you why, your a crook, theif, drug addict, drug seller, or a criminal, and you want the threat gone!!!
Anyone that runs against him is wasting their time and money! He is here to stay!! John All The Way!!

The Sheriff can only do so much. We need some hard nosed, drug hating judges to give the stiffest sentences possible.
