Great news about the 'Violence Against Women Act'.

It passed the House. It now only needs President Obama's signature. The Republican version failed in their own House. The Democrat Senate version then passed. 87 House Republicans joining all 199 Democrats to provide a majority vote. What greatly helped was women Republican House members saw which was the better version and would provide the most help to victims. They finally took a time-out and voted for what was best rather than for partyline. A handful of other Republicans voted for it due to intense pressure from women in their home districts.

Other Republicans as unusual voted against the Senate version like they have previously done on anything helping women or which is Democrat, ignoring their women constituents.

The Violence Against Women Act will now be law as soon as the President signs it.

On the link below note who from Kentucky in the House voted against the Violence Against Women Act. Hal Rogers is one voting 'no'. I'm adding that if you check the list in Senate (the list below is only House) that voted against it, Mitch McConnell was one voting 'no'. Note McConnell also last year spoke out in opposition to giving Kentucky women EPO protections from boyfriends and ex-boyfriends.

Society needs to establish a zero tolerance for sexual violence. Instead of saying, "don't get raped," which shifts the responsibility onto a potential victim, the message should be "don't rape" and focus on holding perpetrators accountable.
Risk reduction strategies, such as self defense classes, can be part of a larger, comprehensive approach to preventing sexually violent crimes. But, in order to cultivate safer communities, we must create social change.
Such sentiments are part of a wider paradigm shift that many would like to see away from blaming victims for walking down empty streets or wearing short skirts. Instead, discourage sexually aggressive behavior.
I see. You agree with the republicans and women are weak and need special protection but in combat won't cost a soldies life looking for that special protection.

This entire thread is nothing more than Jenny's signed confession.

Women are weak.

Women can't excell.

Women can't fight their own battles.

Women in combat won't weaken the units?

Seems like history Jenny uses her twat as fits the need.

If one tenth of what you wrote were true? How could conservative men with the IQ (according to J) lower than shoe size. Keep these mentally and physically superior beings down?

Jenny's argument has no substance in fact.

<quoted text>Lol, you truly are stupid. Conservative women are afraid to be themselves so they doan what their husbands expect of them. After all authoritarians are highly prone to spousal abuse. That is why they support rape, so many are pedophiles and highly prone to violence. Remember those with narcissistic, sociopathy and other personality disorders congregate within the conservative party.

Abstract

Right-wing authoritarianism and social dominance orientation have been proposed as 2 major individual difference variables underlying prejudice. This study examined the relationships of these variables to 3 forms of prejudice—affective responses, stereotyping, and attitudes toward equality enhancement—directed at 2 social groups—African Americans and homosexuals. Canonical correlation analyses showed that social dominance orientation was related to most forms of prejudice directed toward both groups and that right-wing authoritarianism was related to affective responses to and stereotyping of homosexuals. In addition, it was found that, as predicted by the social dominance model, stereotyping mediated the relationships between social dominance orientation and other forms of prejudice and that social dominance orientation mediated gender differences in expressions of prejudice.(PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2012 APA, all rights reserved)

Read what you wrote. Research how a motion leads to a bill and then signed in as an law "Act." Read about the two houses with very different duties.

Then, just maybe you won't try so hard to destroy it?

Feel free to look over the way over 1100 Republican bills attacking us between 2010 and now. Also all the blocks on things helping women, the Violence Against Women Act and Equal Paycheck Act are only two. And the other moves against us such as repealing state fair pay laws, doing away with full sex-ed in schools, attacking the pill (yes, attacking the pill, not abortion). There's also all the stupid anti-women things said by Republican leaders (and there's a lot of them from a lot of different Republican leaders).

Is there a massive attack by the Republican Party and the extremists and religious drumbeaters which have taken it over? Yep, there is. The proof is in they 'are' attacking us. See my above paragraph, posts of issues on this thread, and on my other thread about the war on women (the link is in Post #1). Just the 1100+ bills should be enough proof. How much more proof do you want?
