I read in the News Journal that Nibroc will not be having anymore concerts... I have looked on Nibroc's website & they have nothing to say about it... Whoever decideded to stop having concerts made a huge mistake & should be fired.. Music is what brings people out to Nibroc & has for 60 years.. Why stop now?

It was the mayor mcburned and city council that did it. they said no more nibroc on main street and made it so there is no space for concerts so they are the ones who decided. that is all I know.

They need to keep the nibroc downtown and it would be real simple to have all the rides in the parking lots like they do now and put all the vendors on depot street that runs along the parking lots and move the concerts to campbell field. Everything would be within walking distance and this would free up main street and kentucky street and traffic would not be backed up cause they could keep them open like they are now. Only close main street for the parade and then have it open back up after the parade

Nibroc has sucked for a long time. No floats=sucky Nibroc. People are too sorry to make floats these days, they just stick some dam fire trucks, police cars and Danny Wallens wreckers in it and call it a parade. What a joke.

Nibroc and Corbin as a whole was a lot better 40 years ago.

everyone wants a free concert, would you pay to go to one or you just want something free, business paid the cost to these entertainers and people dont support them so why donate,in other words if its free you will go but if it cost you wont,I donated several thousands for years and quit and several other people quit also, things are tight now and people dont support the places that paid the way for these concerts.I do agree it was great 40 years ago when they had old fashion days and dress contest and beard contest and local vendors and food servers and giveaways and local singers which were as good as some they pay for. you could go without a dime and have a good time but its about money now and that dont add up to free.

Well princess, maybe you should run for office. At least then we would have one sensible politician. I cannot run, I live outside the city limits. I agree with everything that's been said here. Nibroc is going down. If I were a downtown business, I wouldn't donate a dime. Without the concerts drawing an adult crowd, all your going to have is a teenage crowd at the carnival, and not supporting local business.

Free? I pay my taxes.. What's wrong with giving back to the community? & YES I do pay to go to concerts... Nibroc will not be Nibroc without the entertainment... What does Mayor Jackass thinks gonna bring in the crowds? Floats? Contest? Rides? NOT I...

Well what about all the money that the vendors pay I thought that goes into having the concerts, it's been all about money for years ,it's all about how much can they charge the people of corbin and surrounding counties for a sandwich hot dog and a drink. Not counting the over charging of the rides . U know they get a cut of that also

This town sucks now. I can remember when I was a kid going up to the fairgrounds where the football field is now across the interstate past Gordon Hill. They had mule pulling contest, horse shows, greased pig contest for the kids, motorcycle races, jumping contest, wheelie contest.

Why is it 40 years later we don't have things like this. Easter Egg hunts for the kids where every merchant at Trademart chipped in for prizes, JC's Haunted House on Depot Street, I could go on and on. For the future it seems we have went downhill. Kids today would love to have the things we had to look forward back then EVERY YEAR!

I think it boils down to who is in charge. The ones in charge back then cared and went out of their way to get these activities for the community. Today, nah, lets sit in our a/c office and get the town to pay for our cell phones and put that extra money in our pocket.

Next election why don't you people wake up and stop voting these same terds into office decade after decade. I would clean house and get all new people in that aren't a bunch of sorry arses.

Why dont the city use some of the liquor tax money. Or do we need more cop cars. The rides suck, the vendors have the same old crap, if they get rid of the bands then no one will go down town . You know what, we have a 22 million dollar arena , I've got a good idea.... Lets pull our head out of our ass a hold a consert there. Charge $5.00 a person and pay for a good band. It holds about 7000 people -- you do the math. Hell I would pay $10.00 just to get out of the house.
Well do something
