Does anyone know if London will be changing Trick or Treat night from Thursday to Friday or Saturday night due to the severe weather we are expected to have? I hope they change it, I feel it would be to dangerous Thursday night for the kids!!

So far there is not a change in this. We are expected to have high winds and about an inch of rain. http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php...
My children are going to be really disappointed.

I take my kids to the neighborhood by Souls Harbour Church. It's safer there because everyone actually walks instead of driving door to door. But if the weather is like they are calling for (thunderstorms with high winds and rain) then it is not safe for them to go out and my children will be skipping Halloween this year.

Took some initiative and called the city. They said the will not change Halloween even if the weather is bad. It is up to the parents if they choose to participate or not. Gotta Love it! Par for the coarse of letting churches control the area. Happy Halloween London.

Evidently the Mayor is also running the county, whatever he says about Trick or Treating goes! Then that makes me wonder why pay a big salary to the county judge if the city mayor is also running the county? WYMT just issued a wind advisory and saying to put everything up or tie it up outside. It is a SHAME and DISGRACE that elected officials can't put the safety and well being of children before them, they are elected by the people and should listen to the concerns of parents! All I can say is to remember this in the next election, the people that put the children in danger on a night that they have looked forward to all year!

Are they still giving all these bad weather advisories? a friend told me we might get tornadoes. I haven't looked for myself yet. I can't believe they wouldnt call this off, it should be the responsibility of the government to protect the citizens. guess we're fending for ourselves these days....

No its the responsibility of the parents to watch the weather and determine it is safe for their children to be out.
Things have been planned and the places such as churches are inside so it should be as safe there as at home.We have some wind advisories and rain coming.Surely if someone is old enough to have children they are old enough to have a bit of common sense.
People wanting freebies need to get ready and go on and collect their loot and not expect the world to change for them because of rain or a bit of wind.its not up to the officials to baby sit the county.

Uhhh....I wasn't implying I wanted freebies. I am old enough to take care of my children and I do. None of them are going this year. I don't need the city or anyone else telling me what to do. I was just saying the elected officials we have voted for should care more about the families out there and any possibility someone could be hurt because they didn't want to call it off. Yes I understand its our choice to go or not, but it's pretty pathetic most other counties have called theirs off and good ol' laurel county is hangin' in there.

Go jump on someone else's ass, not mine.
Happy Halloween
