I have extremely annoying neighbors, and am wondering how i can get them to stop turning their porch light on. any time I walk my dog at night, go to my vehicle for something, or step on my side porch (not visible to them) they turn their dang lights on. i am so annoyed now I don't know how i can get them to stop.
any ideas? right now, i turn my lamp light on when they turn their lights on and they quickly turn theirs out. we live outside city limits, and thought about firing a few rounds off, but don't want to go that far.
Sounds like my father in the winter time, might be checking to see if it is snowing yet

Thats what i thought at first too, we are a good football field length from each other, and during the day you can watch them constantly looking out one window, moving back and forth in it.
You are a good football field length from each other and YOU can see THEM looking out one window, moving back and forth????? What are YOU using, spy glasses???? No way someone could see that well a football field away without using something to bring it closer to see. After reading some of the things you have posted, I'm beginning to wonder if maybe YOU aren't the one that needs watching instead of them. Why should you even care of they turn their damn lights on or off, YOU are a football field away !!!!! It's not like they are going to be able to see anything YOU are doing.

Why would you worry about them turning their lights on, they pay their own electric bill and sounds like if you live that far away they couldn't see you anyway, that is why I have a Dog and outside lights, if my Dog barks I will turn the lights on to look around, if I hear a noise I will do the same, my Lights and my electric bill, I can use them anyway I choose, sounds to me like you are the one that is hiding something, geeezzzsss !!!

Hey you have no problem, just try to deal with a neighbor that burns wood and any thing they find in a barrel every other day, they smell the neighbor hood up with smoke all the time, Allergies are bad anyway and the smoke makes it really terrible, We have talked to them and they don't care they do it any way no respect at all, can't even have a cook out because of stupid people.

The reason I have stopped posting is because none of you idiots bashing me seem to understand. I can't even have friends over without my neighbors bothering us. I ccan't pull in my driveway or anything without the damn light coming on. We are all human, some of us enjoy privacy more than others. And that's how I am. I don't turn a light on when they leave in the middle of the night, or when they have friends over. And NO to everyone saying I have "something to hide." As I've stated before, I am a stay at home mother, and I have nothing to hide. I am home with my 2 kids all day. So if you want to come see ifI have something to hide, be my guest. It's also not very hard to see someone moving from window to window when their inside lights are on, unless your blind. I am very aware of my surroundings, and don't need anyone else to be for me. So thanks, for being a prick like everyone else.

I think if I were you I would seriously consider investing in a privacy fence along that side of the property. that should solve your problem

I thought about it, in all honesty. But even coming down our driveway at night they turn their light on. None of our other neighbors do but them. Can't understand why.

They do it to drive you crazy, because they want you to move away, so their friends can move into your house.
At first I thought you were a troll, because you mentioned something about shooting a gun at them or something, which made it obvious your post wasn't serious. But after reading for a while, I started to realize their plan to drive you crazy is starting to work.
Yes it is. Our house has been for sale for 3 weeks now, part of the reason is them. Mostly because we want a bigger yard.

I would drive anyone batty for the neighbors to turn the light on every time a person moved on the property. I just don't know what to say. How can they be watching that much, LOL? I mean I turn on my light if I think I hear something very near my house but this is bordering on crazy. Yep, I'd be moving ASAP.

I still don't see how they can be standing a the switch every time you move though. They need a life if they don't have this automated somehow (and even if they do)!

I can see how having a light shined on you every time you moved on your own property would get on one's nerves. Not sure why you are being bashed on here so bad. Probably because most people in this area are so selfish they don't care how their actions affect their neighbors either!

Exactly! I understand everyone saying I should mind my business, which iI do, but it's really hard not to look at someone who is constantly flashing their light on when we are outside. It's just rediculous that iI can't do anything on my own property without neighbors being nosey. and even during the day, if iI happen to look their way you can still see someone moving back and forth in a window. i'm just sick and tired of it and iI want it to stop. I honestly don't understand why anyone is bashing me either, I've stated numerous times im a stay at home mother, don't know how much clearer i I need to be. I'm not a meth Maker, drug dealer, etc. And No, I don't need to "get a job and mind my business" I am well taken care of by my husband. And I think when I step outside and someone that far away turns a light on ALL the time, it becomes my business. I'm just glad there's a few people out there taking my side and being understanding.

Move. They're doing nothing wrong. May be aggravating but it's not wrong.

hold on one minute, had you rather have neighbors like mine, they don't even answer the phone when I call them, I sure would hate to have an emergency and really need them for something. I am a respectable person and don't bother anyone, all I do is work 24/7.??????
