I have extremely annoying neighbors, and am wondering how i can get them to stop turning their porch light on. any time I walk my dog at night, go to my vehicle for something, or step on my side porch (not visible to them) they turn their dang lights on. i am so annoyed now I don't know how i can get them to stop.

any ideas? right now, i turn my lamp light on when they turn their lights on and they quickly turn theirs out. we live outside city limits, and thought about firing a few rounds off, but don't want to go that far.

Maybe its motion sensor lights..
I have them and they come on with any movement.Doubt they just sit and watch you so they can turn lights on.

Thats what i thought at first too, we are a good football field length from each other, and during the day you can watch them constantly looking out one window, moving back and forth in it.

So a wife and mother has it coming? To me it sounds like you are the neighbor. What human with a brain stem goes around saying,'Oh you have it coming!!!' Well if what she has coming is what she has dished out then I expect her to win the lottery because she has done nothing but good. Maybe you should try it sometime instead of being so bitter. Use that crusty ball of what I'm sure used to be a heart and love one another. She came on here to see her options of what there is to be done and you did nothing but spark an argument. Trololololol.

Most likely they have remote motion motion/infra-red sensors along the edge of their property. Why? Your guess is as good as mine but they seem to want a little advance warning of visitors.

That would make sense, but my house, driveway and everything is no where near the property line on their side. Doesn't matter where you are they turn the lights on.

If they don't have sensors then someone must always be on watch. I think I'd see how many times I could make the lights come on. Maybe invite over a bunch of friends and relatives to take turns going outside.

You obviously didn't read the first few comments, I am a stay at home mother and I have nothing to hide. I'm sure If i I lived next to you i'd be moving ASAP. There's a diffrence between being nosey, being cautious and being paranoid. my neighbors yard isn't fenced in and their dogs are not on chains, which means anyone could call animal control but haven't yet. Believe me, anyone can see what i'm doing, they are being rediculous. they live so far from me that there is no way a motion sensor light can reach. And yes, I am armed as well. Just because im a woman and iI stay home doesn't mean iI can't handle a gun. Yes, this is a free country, yes they are free to have their lights on, but there's a difference between leaving your porch light on to see and turning it on while you watch your neighbors obsessively. Which, is what's going on here.

Until his electric bill is my obligation then I couldn't care less if they use electricity.

If homes are as far apart as stated? What business is it of yours.

Those neighbors also sared the thieves away when they came to steal your stuff.

You best be thankful you live in an alert neighborhood.

I want to know were Wonderful found those carrots.. since you say you live at least a good football field away from your neighbors, yet you can see this person walk in front of a window and during the day non-the-less ,In the dark while casting shadows i could see maybe sounds to me like you are the one looking Awful hard at your neighbor so get a grip and live peacefully and stop being a paranoid idiot sound to me like this other person isn't doing you or anyone else any harm except minding there own business so what ARE YOU paranoid OVER one might ask? those light bulb or are you more afraid people will see what you are doing if they are on?

Maybe your neighbors are just afraid. How long have they lived there? It is odd that their turning lights on at all hours bothers you if you live so far from them. If they haven't lived there long and y'all are out in the boonies they could just be afraid of being out there and not knowing anyone. If you are afraid to introduce yourself and ask them about it you could just put up a tall fence or plant some large shrubs between you and them. I think it is going too far to fire a gun over this. If they are that afraid they will overreact and someone could get hurt.

Anyone wanting that kind of advance notice, always looking out windows, turning on lights, etc. obvisously has something they want to hide. Maybe the cops need to be tipped off about that place just to see what's going on. May be a meth house. Sounds really strange to me what you are saying.

I'm just laughing my butt off @ Wonderful about now, who says they are a football field away , no where near the property line of this other person house ,YET they somehow feel there lights coming on and off are a huge threat to them .. Hey look I'm not try to bust your chop over your neighbor but i see no problem here I have lights happen to use them everyday on a pretty regular basis both inside and out, including Motion sensor lights and if you move they are on , if a moth hits it they are on , don't stare at it ,ITS liable to come on ..joking there, but you see my point . point is find something else to occupy your time. unless your neighbor is a constant loud party person , sells drugs ,has a drive way full of idiots day and nite , thieves running in and out . wheres the real problem ? and frankly i don't feel this person has nothing to hide or they wouldn't have lights on at all they would be more creeping around in the dark wouldn't they less noticeable undercover in blackness. JUST SAYING !
