The Left is so eager to take away your guns that they're pressing President Obama to spend his own political capital to make it a reality. Although gun control is a chief concern of the Obama administration, FOX News reports that the President "has other business to attend to right now" -- namely budget battles that have left him politically battered. That's not sitting well with liberals, who want Obama to engage his massive 15-million-member activist group, Organizing for Action, to expedite the process.
Following his election win, "Team Obama" strategically moved all the resources of his massive election campaign to a new organization -- one designed to take Obama's influence far beyond his second term; restructure the political debate; and make Obama the most powerful political kingmaker perhaps in our history. The New York Times recently reported that this new organization is on the fast track to raise $50 million in private donations, with the goal of mobilizing Obama's campaign resources "in support of the second-term policy priorities," which include gun control. Even the name of the organization Obama created is significant: Organizing for Action.
In that name, we see the essence of Obama -- who, at his very core, is first and foremost a community organizer. This is his real heart and soul. With this new launch, he left behind his old political machine called Organizing for America. You see, words matter. Mr. Obama is not so much about "America" as he's about "Action." So this word change is very significant. The current president of the United States is no longer even pretending to be about "America," and thus he dropped the word from his organization's name and replaced it with "Action."
Right now, we're seeing a concerted push for state-level gun bans in New York, Maryland and Colorado. In fact, three new gun-control measures were signed into law in Denver today, with at least two other anti-gun proposals still pending there. If liberal elites succeed at getting Obama to unleash the forces of Organizing for Action, the battle over our Second Amendment rights will intensify ten-fold ... something pro-gun Americans must consider.++ Tell Senators That You Support The Second Amendment! While Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) decided yesterday that a proposed “assault weapons” ban won't be part of a gun control bill the Senate plans to debate next month, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) will still be able to offer her legislation as an amendment. The Associated Press reports that having a separate vote on “assault weapons” would allow moderate Democratic senators facing re-election next year in Republican-leaning states to vote against the ban, but then enable them to support other gun-control measures, such as prohibiting high-capacity magazines. This is why Grassfire has launched our national "I Support the Second Amendment" petition, to help mobilize grassroots patriots who understand what's at stake and are eager to make their voices heard. Our representatives on Capitol Hill will hand-deliver more than 100,000 signatures to key Senators (Republican and Democrat) to help insulate and embolden them not to cave under the intense pressure expected from the Obama "regime." We want to include you in this important delivery, but we need your permission to do so.
