...I just switched from POFF to waste management. Poff was inconsistant on the pickup for me. When we had POFF, the guy that ran our route would intentionally switch his pickup times. He would pick our trash up at 4:00pm for a month or so, then switch it to 7:00am. His motive for doing this is to catch the customers off guard and only have 1/2 the trash to pick up on that day, which in turn makes his fat ass day easier.

...since I switched to waste managment I'm much happier and they change me the EXACT SAME PRICE!...my new trash guy knocks on my door if my trash isn't out now! I can add an extra trash bag and not get charged extra!...poff is kind'a bunch of arseholes really.(this is my opinion)

poff throws things around and scatters the can lids, and curses loud enough to wake the neighbors.

been with poff for 6 years.have never had one problem with their service.always run the same day, about the same time.no garbage on the ground etc.
shouldnt be any lids to be thrown around that i can imagine.they have a big red container and the lid is attached.if you are using other cans in addition to the red trash bin then you are getting more pick up than you are paying for.one trash bin weekly unless you pay for extra then you should have another bin.
be glad they even bother with it.most companies in other towns will leave the trash setting if you dont have it in their containers.sounds like you want more pick up than you plan to pay for.

If it had not been for Poff coming into the area, the others would have never offered the garbage containers. That was my reason for changing to Poff at the time. The dogs get in our garbage or I should say use to get in our garbage, but now it stays nice and clean. Poff has discounts for Sr. citizens, which most likely the others do too. I don't know what the others charge but Poff is $18.95 per month. Also might add that our pickup guy never gets out of the truck, it's all done mechanically.

Poff allows one can in addition to their red one. I some times forget to bring my can down and so the next week I might have 2-3 bags that do not fit in the red can and I have never been charged extra. I don't used big bags, so 2-3 is what would typically fit in a normal trash can.

Our trash is also picked up by ones of those automated trucks. Sometimes it leaves a mess, but I really don't mind picking up a stray piece every now and then. It is no different than picking up from litter that people like to throw out their car on my road.

I've used Poff for several years also. Never had a problem with them. I don't know what time they pick it up because I'm always at work when they run, but it's always picked up by the time I get home and my bin is always sit back in the same spot they always put it. Their rates have increased, but so has the price of everything else these days. I've been pleased with their service overall.

Poff has gotten a lot worse lately. Moved from CC where they'd pick up anything to the country where I can see how lazy they really are. Had cans that was a little heavy, but my 11 year old wheeled it to the end of the driveway, they refused to pick it up for 2 weeks. They when my trash backed up they charged me extra to remove the trash they shoulda picked up the week before. They've gotten too big and lost customer service. Losing one customer didn't seem to faze them. Last time I rented a roll back, I was overcharged. But at least they had one to offer.

Yes, poff you've gotten too big. Treat people better and get nicer women to answer the phone and get men that will empty a can without complaining its too heavy.

Just like Rite Aid or Walgreens. Better when their new and up and coming, but treat you like a number later on and have no loyalty.

Poff is cheaper than Waste Management. Was with them for along time until I checked the price at Poff. Poff has great service. No problem. Waste Management offered to lower my price. But I asked why they kept increasing my bill. Their reply was they keep doing it until someone complains. They have no integrity.

If you are a Poff customer, and you cal WM, ask them if they will serve you for less money than Poff.

I am thinking of starting my own garbage business, and letting people bring their weekly trash to me,(while they are already coming this way) to save my gas, and letting them have a cheaper monthly bill.
If they recycle their paper products, they will have less trash per lb per charge quota.

There is money in this business, just do a survey for your area, and the license to do it doesn't cost but 50 dollars a year.

That is a great idea there Lonnie, it will help save on the overhead also.
I always burn my extra trash on my garden anyway to help it to grow.
But I always call the local fire dept to make sure there is not a ban on burning.
Plus I have a neighbor who gets my extra scraps for his piggs.

If everyone would pitch in to help each other save this way, the world would be a better place.

If you recycle and compost there wouldn't be much need in having garbage pickup.
