Just got my Delta Natural Gas bill and noticed it listed a 3.00% rate increase Laurel Co Sc tax on it. Did any one else get the school tax increase?

Someone needs to look into this because the way I understand it is that school tax can only be levied on property and not utility bills and such.

Well its on my Jackson Energy bill every month and its on KU isnt it so why wouldnt it be on a gas bill.

every bill i pay has a school tax on it,gas,water,lights,phone,cabl e i guess all the increases are for that 2 million dollar school they are building in eb gotta have some way to pay for it

Just more school tax on the working man so they can do with what ever it is they do with all that money. Well it's early Saturday morning and off to work I go so I can pay the taxes

All school taxes must now be approved by the Laurel Fiscal Court. The new law also applies to public library and health department taxes.

If that is true then they must be wanting a second set if eyes looking and approving them. Maybe trying to account for so of the school tax money or something? WoW!

Kids or no kids you pay the school tax. I guess more money needed for all the over the top renovations and new schools. I'm all for giving a kid a good education but its like this county is on a mission to out spend other systems in the state. Did we have a right to oppose these tax increases? We gotta have the highest in the state
