A pool is a collection of properties that lie within 500 feet of the well-head.

thanks, someone else also said that up to 640 acres are allowed to be in each pooled area..do you know anyone that knows anything about the area down around 472 foggertown?? some of the neighbors have told us that we are joined in a pooled area with neighbors all the way up to the end of pistolcreek, hwy 687 ??
we are just finding out some info on our well,
looks like we have been left out for years and with many gas companies involved, that have not been paying royalties.

The State of Ky only considers a unit well to be within the 500 ft radius of the wellhead. Which only amounts to a little over 18 acres.

oh, our old paper work from the 80's shows how many gas well properties were pooled together.and it sure is a whole lot more than 18 acres.

A company may have hundreds, or even thousands of acres under lease but a pool is the combining of properties to satisfy the 500'R rule. Possibly because of the well head location in reference to property boundary lines or to combine two or more smaller parcels to exceed the 500'R. Either way, the percentage is calculated and the royalties divided accordingly.

oh,well so then if a company has about 30 properties then those people would be supposed to receive their percentage of what royalties that come from the amount of minerals that are sold from the properties???I tried to read the KRS laws, but some of them are too confusing.thanks for the info.

The land owners that make a pool for a well that people are talking about, will share a percentage of, most likely, 12.5% royalty depending on the amount of their land that falls inside of the 500 ft. circle around the well.

Is this well leased? Are you receiving royalties? What type of inspection are needing?

no royalties have ever been received its needs to be dug around to show what and how many lines are connected to it.our neighbor already helped us dig around it and we can see there are more than just the farmers tap line hooked to it.
