At the time this Scripture was written there was no such thing as skirts or pants .I am a Christian myself but i do try to think for myself and not let a certain denomantion define Scripture for me and especially if it goes against common sense like this does . I don't think it's talking about clothing at all but that Men should be Men and woman should be Woman . Each should play the role they were born to play and not take on the role of the other .
if it was only talking about how a man should be a man and woman a woman then why did the scripture say the word "wear"

All of these other denominations twist the bibles words around to fit their lifestyle. But in truth you should twist your lifestyle to fit the bible. The bible is the true word of god and should be followed accordingly.

Forgive me if I am wrong but 17 times the word(s) skirt(s) are mentioned throughout the Bible. 16 times were referring to a MAN, 1 time reference to a WOMAN & it was in her "filthiness"..so if ANYTHING, the MEN are wrong by wearing pants! Now people say your supposed to be separate & stand apart as part of their "skirt wearing" standards. Men wearing skirts would definitely show "separation". I've been raised Pentecostal my whole life & am shunned & preached into hell more thsn the devil himself! I know the difference in relationship with God & man made doctorine! Hope this helps

Iam holiness ... I would just like to say how we believe isn't rules from the bible itsaya not goin to get you to heaven and the lord doesnt say you have to do these things but the life we live is a careful way of living we are seperate from the wordly things we are less tempted .we don't watch t.v because. We believe that most of it is evil an it takes time away from spending it with god .. we wear long sleeves and skirts or dresses men wear long sleeves also they havde clean shaved face an nice hair cut women do not cut your hair because it is a glory unto you we dress modest not revealing anything on our bodies no jewelry we believe in not having pride in anything because t he lord doesn't like pride you do not have to look like us to come to our church we will love everyone no mAtter what it doesn't. Matter all the things we do but we know it pleases god to see us layingour lives down for him and spendin time with him to whoever is reading this that isn't saved please know that its what's in your heart that will get you to having the lord knws our heart and we have to be free from sin and I knw there's a way to live above sin I'm not saying you wnt be tempted an tried but the lord will help you ask god to come into ur heart an to teach you an guide you we also believe in feeling he holyghost and its real god is real and hehas power an dominion over every single thing fear him he is powerful an greatly to be praised

I'm about 1yr new to the Pentecostal way of living. I pray everyday to be filled with the Holy Spirit. I've always been a church going Christian in a non denominational church. I'm loving Him and loving this new way of life. I have to admit that when I first came to the AOG I was scared to death of the speaking of tongues but have studied much. Now with understanding I feel so excited. Totally different than I've ever felt, lived, etc. I am alive, hunger and thirst for more understanding and edification!

I don't want to step on anyone's toes, or disrespect anyone's beliefs but I don't feel that the way someone dress or adornes themselves is directly correlated with their religious belief or even there relationship with God! You could have a Christian women who dresses completely modest and follows ever rule pertaining to their religion, however their minds could still be screwed up and they just follow these rules because they are told its what's right, but they don't truly have faith in a higher power. How do you know that with all certainty, because I am pretty sure King James rearranged the bible to fit hislifestyle. Just do so research.

It doesn't, matter what we think.the truth is what the BIble says. Many people are trying to follow half what the Old Testament says and half the new. When JEsus died on the cross this is where we get forgiveness for the remission of our sins, in baptism and doing what the BiBle teaches .faith without work will not get us to heaven alone.nor work without faith.we none deserve the rite to go to heaven this is a gift. It matters what name is over the door. What does the bible say.whoe,s church. Is it. Man doesn't have the right to rewrite the rule book.it rains on the just as we'll as the unjust565

A name means nothing unless you bring reproach upon it...the dress rule should be a reflection of God being the most important thing in your life,pleasing Him....If you love Him,you 'll never want to dress to reflect otherwise.
Length of hair,clothes isn't rule,if so,my hair would be much longer since it doesn't hardly grow and my skirts would be longer since designers tend to think everyone wants to show the ugly knee... I personally don't think tight clothing is a good idea as you are revealing a lot to other s imagination and causing lust to arise.
Jewelry,I think earrings and braclets are a bit unnecessary,so I gave them up,no problem. I do feel wedding rings,sentimental jewelry,such as mother's rings,pins,ok if not elaborate..
Pride...that has a lot to do with it..if you knock the jewelry,don't be showy with all the scarves,flower pins and wild colors,attention getter and spells PRIDE just as well...my opinion.
Mainly,if you ask God,He does condemn if it's wrong even if it's just for you and be willing.

Earings are not allowed. No peircings at all and no jewlery at all. Panty hose are mostly worn to church. Not out. Bare legs are fine but panty hose make it dressier for your church outfit. Only have to wear a slip if see-through.

I'm not Pentecostal/Holiness but I would think that the only important thing is to keep your mind on God. I don't think they are as strict as other religions. But I really don't get them because anyone who is blessed with the gift of tounges can speak in tounges. To each it's own. As long as your motives are true I don't think the clothing should matter.

The bible talks about a woman's hair being her covering. The Bible I think also says something about long hair being a sign to angels. Its taught to keep your hair long and uncut. Its not about a bunch of stupid rules. If a person really wants to know the truth about things like this they should pray and seek God about it.

The Pentecostal Church and Islam have a lot in common. Women are subservient to men. Women are expected to dress in a modest fashion. The similarities in how Pentecostal women dress and how Muslim women dress are uncanny. With the exception that Muslim women wear head coverings, scarves when they are not in the presence of family members. Although some Pentecostal women also wear scarves, long sleeve shirts and skirts to the ankle.

The bible says something about this just most people don't read their bible like they should I'm probably misquoting this but it says to dress in MODEST APPAREL as becometh HOLINESS

I say it is more appropriate to dress in longer skirts and less flashy outfits things that are less revealing but it doesn't have to be a big baggy turtle neck with skirts that drag on the floor just don't dress like a hussy and don't have anything too tight or revealing

By the way this is coming from a 17yo boy not some old lady or something

I am 22 years old and have four boys. I was raised and still go to a Pentecostal holiness church. My skirts are the norm to me. I am married and have no want or reason to show my body off. Anyone who is curious or wants to know how to dress I have the answer. Your roadmap God left for us. The bible. Look into it and read it will guide you.
