Lord, Teach me to pray
(Luke 11:1 NIV)
"One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of
his disciples said to him,'Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.' "

I am sure there are different ways for one to begin a prayer.

I don't. It's a useless and time wasting act, but a harmless placebo for the mind. I much prefer to tackle my problems hands on and actually get a result. After all that is what has to be done once the prayers are said. A pair of hands working are infinitely more powerful than a thousand clasp in prayer.

It doesnt matter how you pray. You can be on your knees or standing at the kitchen sink. As long as you pray from your heart then your doing it right. I pray whenever the mood hits me and thats been a lot of the times lately.

I could be in my garden or in the car. Or I could even be at Walmarts. All I gotta do is talk to Him. Besides that fact is He already knows whats in our hearts and all we gotta do is ask.

Sometimes we dont get what we want but its all in His will for our good.

If your a believer then you know you can pray any time you want to. You dont have to close your eyes or get on your knees to talk to our loving and almighty God. He listens all the time and He is there with you all the time.

As long as you believe then practice prayers how ever you want to! If you are not a believer then it dont matter cause your not going to pray anyhow. Thats your own personal decisions to make.

You know you are probably correct in a sense. However as a Deist, I am a believer after a fashion. Just not in prayer.

That is one of the most kindest and politest things that anyone who doesnt believe in prayer has probably ever put on here. So I wanted to take a minute to say thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Even tho you maybe dont believe in prayers I can still wish blessings to come to you. However you believe they might come to you I thank you and want you to be blessed in some kind of way for being so nice to us.

There are hundreds of strings on here that a believer cant talk on because they get hijacked by people who want to put us down and down talk us. But you stepped up and were so kind for trying to keep at least one string calm enough for us to talk about our beliefs on.

One more time may you be blessed some how for what you said no matter what you believe in!

I want to apologize. My comment was not meant to be an "attack". I was posting an honest answer. There was no offense meant, just a different view from some who is not an Atheist and yet not a Christian.

As a Christian Witch I believe God and the Universe wants you to know...That on this day will you have an opportunity to attend your own campaign. You are invited by life to elect yourself a Spiritual Leader, and to take office today.

What does a spiritual leader say? A spiritual leader does not say, " Follow me."

A True spiritual leader says, "I'll go first." Blessings Be to those who choose Freedom.

Bible says to pray in your closet in private but if you must pray in public, says the Lord's Prayer
