You cannot disprove the Flying Spaghetti Monster, so he is equally plausible. That is using your stupid logic against you.

at least that's the best they can come up with after 3000 yrs to make fun of followers of Christ.

Verses taken out of context do not a prophecy make. How about all the failed prophecy in the Bible? Those like Egypt being cast desolate so that no man or animal can live there for 40 years or the destruction and eternal abandonment of Tyre? Maybe the Nile drying up is more to your liking?
Also, prophecy has to be something more than a future command that can be worked to achieve. Otherwise anyone can do it. "The generations of my seed shall attend to centers of knowledge and grow in mind." Wow, my kids will go to school. "The son that departed shall once more return to land of his birth." Will my sibling come home to visit family? Maybe he will go overseas and come back to the US. Or maybe he dies and is brought back for burial. See, not hard to make a vague statement and have it happen.
So, that is what happened to Eygpt.

a prophecy is just that.just because it has not happened yet, does not mean it can not or wont happen.we dont know how long time will let this world stand or what will take place until then.prophecy has not failed yet because we dont know how the events will take place to bring it to pass.if the prophecy comes to pass, then the prophecy is true.if not, then that prophet is a false prophet.but time will confirm ,one way or the other.

Please show me any history book that details the period of time when Egypt lay barren and lifeless for 40 years that has occurred since those words were spoken/written down.

So by your definition of "prophecy" any random statement that has the ability to come true in the future, regardless of probability, is in fact prophecy. So if I say "Anti-Theist will once more post objections to religious doctrine" or "I will go to the store this week" then I am a prophet. That is just nonsense.

Who would of known except for God? Something severe happened to Eygpt as shows today. You don't need a history book when it is visible to the human eye. I've yet to see a history book explain the pyramids.

Who would have known? How about all the nations/empires that have existing writings from that time. An event of that magnitude would have been recorded. That is the problem with your rational. "It's in the Bible so it must have happened." As for the pyramids, what explanation do you want? That they are man made tombs for Pharaohs? There have been many legit books written on them that do not include the words "alien" or "supernatural".

Must disagree. The building of the pyramids has only been speculation. I never said anything about aliens or the supernatural. What do you think was the downfall of Eygpt? If the Nile had dried up, it would stand to reason that the nation would have dissolved. A lot of things of great magnitude have happened that are not recorded. Back to the pyramids for example, no written record of their construction.
The Bible has survived and cannot be disproven. That is not speculation, it is a fact.

So you are telling me that if the Nile dried up totally that no one would have commented on it? That would be like the Mississippi River drying up today and everyone just saying "Well that is odd, oh well moving on". Your claim that the Bible can not be disproven despite a lack of supporting evidence is like me claiming that Pennywise the Clown is real because he is written about in IT. In fact many things in the Bible have been disproven but I'm sure you don't believe that.

While I agree we do not know Who the architects of the pyramids were, they are covered in hieroglyphics that tell the Why. The How is still discussed but the technology was obviously present at the time. The When can be determined from said hieroglyphics and radio-isometric dating. Maybe a simple Google search can provide the info you are lacking.

I could paint scribe on a wall. Really would not prove anything. Yes, I believe a river could have went dry for a period of time and people scattered without mention. It was a different time and survival was of far more importance than keeping notes. Flying over Texas last year and seeing the Red River dry in most areas was seen by yours truly. As for the falsehoods in the Bible, I have not found one to doubt. I am sure there are some because He warns in Revelations of tampering with The Word......BUT the main message is throughout and cannot be touched.

So you are saying that rivers can dry up naturally.....????? With no help from a god????? Well hell I never thought about that!!!!Damn!

Face it.....god is not needed for explaining things now...we know science and have reason. You are foolish to cling to this magic sky daddy crap. You fear death and cling to fantasy to calm yourself like a child.

I did fear death at one time, not now. Science is fine but it is man. Science is constantly rediscovering that it has erred in it's conception's. I admire that about science.
Athiests don't have a foothold on reason. I don't call my fellow man a fool.

So that is what you consider ancient writings? Scribbling? So all the stuff written in Ancient Greek, Mayan, or Babylonian structures are? What about the writings of today? Are they scribblings too? Just because you lack understanding of something is no reason to treat it like its worthless. That is very much like the childhood idea of "I covered my eyes so you can't see me". Just because you don't understand it doesn't make it any less true.

Lol! Well that one is on me. Completely misread it. My apologizes for that mistake. I still stand by my point that ancient language shouldn't be simply dismissed.

No one else will have the name? Wow, better inform Latin America then. Pronounce it how you will, Jesus is what it is.

Also you realize there is no better way to con a person then to tell them "And you can see I'm right because others will tell you I am not". All that does is sell the gullible. Anything that demands you give up the right to question openly or think for yourself should be avoided. But hey, you can tell that I am right because people will do what they are told.

You do realize that the Vedas, the primary texts of the Hindu faith, are much older than both the Christian and Jewish faith right? Based on your logic the names of Indra, Surya, Vata and countless others are more powerful and important than Jesus. They serve the oldest active religion that is still going strong today. I guess their names have been "carried throughout history" as well. How often do you pray to them?

Also, go to the first page and scroll to the very top. You have to be at an actual PC. This is a Poll not a standard thread. Right at the very top above where you vote it says:

"created by: Silly gods | Saturday Mar 9 London, KY"

So the guy who has the "1st post" (Something Rabbit) actually did not start this thread. They just responded first with text.
