<quoted text>This sounds like a good thing to do, but I checked into Hughesnet and I can't get it where I live, if I could I sure would trade in a heartbeat, I sure don't like Windstream. Everybody I know that has windstream hates it, really it is just about a waste of money to fool with them.
tel:1-877-908-5158. This is a new internet company, Wild Blue. I'm hearing some really good things abt them. Couldn't hurt to try, it's suppose to work where others have failed. It's also the same Internet that news cast use. There is suppose to be zero delay.
If I hadn't already gotten Hughesnet I would have went with wild blue.

Satellite Internet is too slow and too expensive. And don't forget about the caps.

Windstream Internet is like a roller coaster. Sometimes they're slow going up hills then fast coming down them. You never know what you'll get day to day.

i had timewarner and what a bunch of scammers. i had roadrunner which they say gets 30mb and eachnight i hardly got 2mb.... i had internet and phone service through them and decided to add cable tv service. he lady quoted me $111.00 a month plus $25.00 connect fee which was ok with me. got my bill and it was $189.00 and they couldnt explain why it was so high ... i cancelled the next month and went to windstream and dish and my internet isnt slow or goes down and its been going on two months. i also hear they are expanding thier bandwidth dont be fooled my timewarner roadrunner.

My windstream connection was slow like 5 to 10 kilobits a second instead of 200 to 300 kilobytes per second. This slowness lasted two and a half weeks. Internet explorer could not handle the slow speed and would not load up. Had to use fire fox. I called them and they said the had an outage. It was caused by something in another state. This was a while back but they have not fixed the drop off or crash or what ever you call it.

Windstream was terrible, went with Time Warner/Roadrunner and couldn't be happier. Make sure you buy a DOCSIS 3.0 modem, this will give you the highest speeds possible. Motorola is a good cable modem brand.

Windstream has upgraded in my area and I get a consistent 3.1 Mbps speed and will be upgraded to 12 Mbps Friday. Go to www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ to check your speed to make sure you're getting the speed you're paying for. I check my speed regularly and if it's not what I'm paying for, they get a call. If you're paying for 3.0, they guarantee it will be at least 60% or 1.8Mbps.
I think if you're on old technology and a long ways away from the exchange, you may even have less than 3.0Mbps.

This sounds like something Chris Christie would do.

Major U.S. Internet Providers Accused of Deliberately Slowing Traffic

Five major internet service providers in the US and one in Europe have been accused of abusing their market share to interfere with the flow of the internet for end users. The accusations come from Level 3, a communications company that helps connect large-scale ISPs like Comcast or AT&T to the rest of the internet. According to the company, these six unnamed ISPs are deliberately degrading the quality of internet services using the Level 3 network, in an attempt to get Level 3 to pay them a fee for additional traffic caused by services like Netflix, a process known as paid peering.

"They are not allowing us to fulfill the requests their customers make for content."

"They are deliberately harming the service they deliver to their paying customers," writes Level 3ís Mark Taylor. "They are not allowing us to fulfill the requests their customers make for content." While Taylor doesnít name names, he describes the six offenders as "large broadband consumer networks with a dominant or exclusive market share in their local market."
