Most of the people I know who get SSI checks have FREE computers, plus high speed internet, plus Dish TV, iPhones, all the video games you can imagin, and large screen flat TV's, so don't even pretend they don't.
Things were different back in the 60's down there. Now all the roads are paved, and most of the ramshackle huts have been vinyl sided and look pretty decent.
I know some people down there who earn decent money at Flea Land every week and still draw SSI and get food stamps.
I've been to the London Walmart with one relative who used someone else's food stamp card to get $100 worth of groceries for a COOKOUT. The lady who owned the card wanted a TV that the lady (who used the card) had, so they swapped the TV in exchange for allowing her to charge $100 worth on the card.
I'll bet there are people who even swap sex for using someone else's card !!!
your one relative you was with is just as bad as the one selling their foodstamps they should be in prison along with the one selling them , the person buying the stamps are just as guilty as the one selling them .......And something else you probally dont know is that people on SSI are allowed to work without it inteferring with their check as long as they dont make too much , i am not sure of how much they can make but a person drawing social security disability can work and make 11 or 12 hundred a month .

you must spend all your time going with your crooked relative buying poor peoples foodstamps for half price .HAHAHAAAAAA

<quoted text>i will say this. sometimes these people with nice cars used to have great jobs and bought n paid for them. then, they lose those jobs. There is so much verification someone recieving assistance has to provide to to case workers. the case workers also can pull up anything they want with the applicants social to see if they are working, getting child support, u/e..u name it, they know. don't judge ppl. thay is gods decision. its the mexican immigrants that should be in their own country getting assistance , not the U.S.A. americans deserve the help.
Yeah, sometimes but there's a look. Say I'm judging whatever, but there's a different look between those "on the draw" and those forced to it by circumstance.

So, everything is God's decision. So, if I shoot somebody that's God's decision, I should not be punished. Ever hear of Free Will?

So you are an accomplice to the crime wouldnt you say.You know someone is doing this but yet never bother to report it.As for flea markets just because someone is on SSI doesnt mean they cant make additional income.Do you really think a person can survive and pay bills with $710 per month.He11 most rent will run at least $400 in this area and even if they get a few food stamps $300 a month wont pay the rest of the basic bills for a month. You busy bodies running around looking for people to put down need to look up the rules as to how much people can earn and still draw, maybe if you are snitching thats why you get no results because the people you snitch on are within the guidelines.
People like you just kill me...Complain about fraud and lazy people but yet when you are SUPPOSE to see it never open your mouth and report probably because you are making up a big lie so you can gossip and put others down so you feel better about your scamming life.
Find something better to do with your time the you wont have time to tend other peoples business.

Just ignore people that gossip. They do it so they feel like they are better than others somehow. They really arent and they know it thats why they have to keep gossip going and keep sticking their nose in everyone elses business.
If they were all that successful they would be to busy to find time to run around gossiping. With all the waste going on in this country get anything you can qualify for and let the busy bodies stuff that long tongue where the sun dont shine.

You sound like you have to much time on your hands if you can follow people around all day and watch everything they do all month long.
Unless you are a PI then you are just plain nosy. Not one thing you stated PROVES anything. Its all YOUR OPINION.Guess you can get you a job mind reading Ms Cleo since you can see what others think..

ssi vs ssdi difference wrote:
when being considered for ssi or ssdi, they take into account your age, work history and education. if you have worked or have an education, you will need to have an obvious or vey debilitating disability to be approved otherwise they will assume you are able to work in your work history field, get a job in your area of education or be retrained in another area of work. and if you are under 50 years old with a work history or education it will be even harder. But if you have never worked or have very little work history or education it is easier to be approved for SSI. Supplemental security income is for those who did not work and pay in enough taxes to get Social security disability insurance. ssi recipients all receive the same amount on their checks $710 ($730 beginning in january). ssdi recipients amounts vary according to what they have paid in. although many ssdi recipients dont get much more than the ssi recipients, usually a few more dollars to $200-$300 more. and many times that little bit more extra they get (for which they worked) disqualifies them from any type of assistance.
Before she died in her forties my wife received SSDI. It was over $1,700 a month. A little better than the $625 SSI at the time.

A lot of people on food stamps now that never thought it could happen to them. Not to wise to condemn others when you dont walk in their shoes.
Never know when the ladder might get pulled out from under you.
The way things are going we may all end up on them.

I wonder how many of those judging the poor and disabled also claim to be Christians? I'm sure Jesus would just be thrilled with some of you.

Nobody begrudges those truly in need. It's the fraud and abuse that the workin' man resents. Do you know that there are more folks on Gov. assistance now than those holding jobs? If you have ever worked hard for a small paycheck, you would understand.

About $59 billion is spent on traditional social welfare programs. $92 billion is spent on corporate subsidies. So, the government spent 50% more on corporate welfare than it did on food stamps and housing assistance in 2006.

thats pretty decent for an ssdi check. she mustve had a good paying job. i worked 38years before becoming disabled, and i get $925 a month. not a whole lot more than an ssi benefit of $710. and you dont have to fight so long and hard to get approved for ssi like you do for ssdi. also ssdi has a 5 month waiting period that they deduct from any backpay, ssi does not have a waiting period.

Umm huh thats why they always jump on the people that get food stamps and SSI.None of the waste on big vacations, corporate welfare, the jail system, bank bailouts, foreign aid, billionaire bonuses, etc is rarely mentioned. If those darn poor people would just do without the country's problems would all be solved. What the working man should resent is that the government has the country so deep in debt that his taxes cant even pay the interest on that debt much less pay for food stamps and other programs..Its all funded with borrowed money. But as long as they can print those green backs they can all still eat Kobe beef at their dinners continue lavish lifestyles while those taxes roll on in to fund the rich get togethers. So its either big crooks or little crooks.Leave the little crooks alone since it all at least get put back in OUR economy unlike most the big crook spending.

Yeah one heck of a paying job to get $1700 SSDI at an age of mid 40s.
Most receive in the $1200 range at retirement. But to get $1700 monthly in your 40s you would most likely had to have earned $100,000 plus yearly and worked a lot.
