There is going to be sports registration going on each Saturday until Aug. 11th from 10am-2pm. Soccer, Football, and Cheerleading will be starting soon. Signups will be at the Laurel-London Optimist Club on Sinking Creek.

They should do completely away with 6th grade middle school football. Make them play Optimist or Tri county until 7th grade. It would make the leagues a ton better and would save the school some money that is really being wasted. If they don't start working together on this issue the football programs in Laurel county need to just do away with football completely. You can't wait until you're a sophomore to learn how to tackle or just play the game in general.

my2cents I have thought the same thing but kids love to be a part of their school. Its a pride thing always has been. I would love to see optimist change just a little. I don't have all the answers but if they would and could make it school based you would have to build more fields to hold all the games. Idk have maybe a 2nd and 3rd league and a 4th and 5th. optimist could still run it and it could be huge. They are going to have to do something a little different to keep football alive. I don't know if this is possible but I would love to see it.
