Community Cooperative Care CCC
helps more poor people in this neighborhood that we can see.
A friend of mine went to Goodwill and she had no coat.
They would not give her a coat.
But CCC gave her a coat, plus they gave her some groceries, because she was below the poverty level.

So if anyone has any thing to donate, I recommend you donate it to CCC.

Goodwill is not a non-profit business. Don't give them nothing. CCC will also give you a tax receipt and they do help people for free.

Does CCC need volunteers? I have a lot of free time right now and I would like to give back while I can. If not can you tell me a place that would take a full time volunteer?

CCC is the best place to give away your clothing, furniture, and other items. CCC helps families in the area who lose their homes to fire, lost job, or just can't afford something! Just as winter coats for children. They are a wonderful group of people! Everything is kept nice and neat and clean!! So please consider them next time you have items to donate!

You can't take it and give it directly to the homeless shelter. It goes to GoodWill first and they are given a voucher of what was brought in. And if the homeless shelter needs something you bring the voucher and redeem it. But everything given to homeless shelter now has to go thru GoodWill. Before it didn't, but now does!

Goodwill collects much more used clothing than they can sell on a national basis. Do they give the excess away to needy people or organizations? Nope...they burn it. I wouldn't give them a dirty rag, they are such a greedy organization.

Beware of The Salvation Army too. They come to our town and collect thousands of dollars each Christmas season. Yet, all that money is used in Middlesboro and Lexington. Since they have no branch in London, none of the money comes back here. Maybe they do help those in bigger towns and cities, but they are misleading people in small towns where they collect money and take it out of the community to use elsewhere.

Check out who you give your money to and make wise decisions.

I usually don't get my hot chics at Goodwill, since they only sell used and recycled stuff. Maybe it is just me.

i used to work for ccc...many (but not all) of the workers are there through drug court. i was there for k-tap, because my child's father would not pay me child support or help me with anything else. Finally i got a job, thanks to goodwill, who helped me also get back into college. No, goodwill does not burn the excess clothes, they are sent to less fortunate people overseas, or put in goodwill's storage to use later when donations are down. I quit working at CCC b/c many of the workers are still on drugs, only wanted to sit outside and smoke all day, and steal the donations before they can go out onto the floor. I just couldn't take it anymore. Also, goodwill didn't give you a coat b/c it is against policy, the employee would have been fired for stealing. There are plenty of ways to get things from goodwill if you have no money...start with asking a local church or school if they have funding available to give you a voucher. Don't judge goodwill until you go and work there. It is a hard job, and the customers treat the employees pretty badly. It really isn't worth the measley amount of money they make to deal with all of the nonsense they have to deal with; such as people like you spreading false rumors and trying to hurt business. Get a life. Better yet, go get a job.
