Parrot Wanted Please

My beloved pet parrot passed away a few months ago and I am looking for another medium to large size parrot to spoil if anyone has one that needs a wonderful home. I have plenty of time to spend with it because I'm retired. I wasn't going to get another one, I was so heartbroken when he died. But I'm ready to find another one to love and give a good home to now.

Already have a really large cage, water and food dishes, plus all the toys it could ever want to play with. Open to all breeds, plus I have many years of experience with these bigger pet birds. It won't be going to a novice or to someone who's just looking for one on a whim. My home will be a forever home and I'm not a breeder. I don't believe in breeding for profit.

Not really interested in any Cockatiels or Parakeets. I'm searching for something in the parrot family only. Prefer a male but will consider a female parrot.

If you have one you need to find a home for, please post on here and add a detailed description of what kind you have for adoption with colorings, age if known, dollar amount you want, etc. I'll leave an email for contact info if I get any offers.

I'm prepared to pay a fair price, so I'm not expecting to find a freebie out there. I just want to give another parrot a good home. I miss my other one so badly, if anyone has one that they would like to re home then please let me know.

Thank you.

Thank you Biff and Kate.

I am female so I don't know if yours would like me or not Biff. What do you think? You know it's personality so could it be reconditioned after time spent with it?

Kate, I searched all over Petfinder. Not too much is in Kentucky, plus the rescues want to do on site welfare checks periodically. That's not a problem about the check ins but they don't want to travel as far down here as where I live. So either no one will let me adopt one from them or the parrot hasn't been a good fit. Much like Biff said, for one reason or the other they've just not been the right one yet.

I want one to spoil again and would rather adopt parrot that's needing a good loving home than to pay a breeder.

Thank you both for your help. I'll keep trying unless you think there could be some progress made with yours Biff, so that it would bond with a female human being. Let me know what you think.

I have an green amazon parrot named Ernie that we're trying very hard to find a good home for. We love him but out daughter is allergic. Sadly we're in Colorado. Is that too far?
