The Root Beer Stand Sucks

If you don't care for the food at a particular place then don't go there, plain and simple. But, try think about this next time you flop your ass down at McD's, the Root Beer Stand has fresh made food as you order it, not shipped in frozen, preserved crap that has only god knows what put in it or how long it has been sitting there waiting to be reheated in the microwave. Oh, and why bring Vintage House and Burger House into this at all when they both have been gone for years? It doesn't even matter about them anymore. Just for the record though, if you could bite into a Burger House burger, chances are it wasn't cooked through and was cold as ice. Just sayin.

I don't know why you all like the root beer stand so much. Personally, I think the food isn't that good - its no better than any other ole place. But every time I ever eat the chili I have always had bad indigestion. Honestly, I think its all cheap food.
However, I understand the concept of it being a local icon, seeing that we all ate there as kids. But seriously the food isn't really that good. I just don't understand why everyone gets so excited for it to open up. Personally, I eat there once this summer, regret it and that's it. If the place closed, I would miss it being here, but I surely wouldn't miss the food.
You went to all that effort to trash the Root Beer Stand?
What a loser.

cannot wait till it opens, for every loser that hates it there is 5000 that love it,stay home ,and you must be a loser and complain about everything that anyone else likes, set at home on opening day and pout by yourself,im sure you dont have any friends or family that like being around you,or change your way and be a little happier.

The Root Beer Stand is a Corbin tradition, where els in Corbin can you eat curbside, Sonic which isn't in Corbin it's in Laurel Co., The Brown Cow, good food but just not the same. I will admit that The Root Beer Stand has lost some of its nostalgia since the moved it a bit, and rebuilt when they widened 18th St/Cumberland Falls Hwy.. The Root Beer Stand is a one of a kind! Now I just wish The Corbin Drive In would reopen, yes I know you can see the same movies at The Cineplex, and in a month or two rent them from a Red Box, but the atmosphere adds to the experience.

I've not ate there in about six years. My wife got a root beer float and the ice cream had frozen maggots in it. They said it was the end of the season and they had not served a lot of them so flies had laid eggs in the top of the machine and fell in. They asked me if I wanted a new one on the house!!! LOL
I called the health department but never heard the results. I prefer eating at home now.
that place is nasty had a friend buy my dinner there last summer thats enough for me i wont ever eat that trash again. who ever says its good cant taste it

The food is bland and horrible. Everything they have is cheap and cheaply made. The only people who can't see how nasty the food really is are the ones who just don't like change.

I thought Chuck-E-Cheese was awesome when I was little. Guess what? I don't go there anymore!

I like the atmosphere.. it takes me back to when I was young and we had fewer choices here in town. It really hasnt changed that much in the 25 years that I have lived here (atmosphere, I think it's a bigger building now) I used to love going there after softball practice and people watching.. you could see everyone there. I go there twice a season now.. when they open and at the end of the summer. It has a lot of nostalgia. I know that I have seen many businesses come and go.. but that place is most always packed.. I guess its a good thing everyone dont love it.. never could get a parking spot. There is a sence of community there.. its something we all have in common.. I think it's cool..

I've been told that originally the A&W was on part of main St. And that it then reopened in the present location. With different owners? It came to one who wouldn't pay A&W the franchise rate and lost their chili formula etc. the quality of food is poor. The menus is varied. It is a taste of nostalgic days gone by. To bad the food is not a better quality though.

the only good thing about the rootbeer stand is the rootbeer. Their food does suck! Chilli is bland as hell, hamburgers or dixies may be fresh but they dont have any flavor either....anybody can fry up crinklecut fries...its not worth the wait. They need different recipes...
The trick to an awesome tasty dixie burger is how you order it. You must order it with everything, cheese and Extra sauce. Awesome can hardly wait to get one.

Unfortunately the Burger House and Vintage are no longer around. The Burger House burned down some time ago and it was never reopened. It was located across the street from Fiesta near that auto shop (King's I believe).

The Vintage House is quite the story and it closed a few years back is all that I will say. It was located where the Corbin Public Library is currently located (across from First Baptist Church).

I was always curious about this place having seen the cars swarming around it every summer. I went for the first time last year, just to see what the big deal was. I don't like root beer so I just ordered some food. I can't say it was bad, but it wasn't that great either. Honestly, I was a little disappointed, I guess my expectations were a bit high. I would probably go back again sometime, but its no better than any of the other fast food around here.

I'd hate to see what your arteries look like then. If you want to be around for a few more years with your family, you might want to find something else that is "yummy".
