I was excited to have a sports bar close to home to stop and grab a bite to eat. The place is big. The bar staff friendly. However, the pizza was the worst I have ever had. It had an enormous amount of grease on it. The bottom crust was doughy, probably because of the grease soaking through. I took napkins and saturated the napkins when I tried to pat some of the grease off. The owner was there and knew the problem with the pizza. I thought that with it being a new business and wanting word-of-mouth to be good and have repeat customers, there would have been at least an offer to reduce the price or give us a gift certificate to use at a later date, but nothing was done. I will probably go back, however, I am disappointed nothing was done. I will NEVER order a pizza there again and would recommend that others don't either, unless some major change is made.

I also had a fish plate there which was mediocre at best. I disagree with ghost towner, there are a number of sports bars with great food...this place does not offer that. I will go back ONE more time, hopefully they get it together soon...there are way too many good choices out there to settle for mediocre

Much of the same as listed. Food average at best, service not so good.

Better alternative is a existing sports bar 2 miles away (The StoneYard). Much better food, service and atmosphere.

I was at Lazy Dog for a band the night before Thanksgiving and let me tell everyone, the bar staff was great. We had a big group of people there and they were very busy, but yet we never had to wait for a drink. Service is so important and I have to say that they did an exceptional job. Glad to see that there is still good employees out there who really care.

I had a pizza there last week and it was very good, I think they figured it out.

I have gone to Lazy Dog many times, but within the last few months I have been noticing a real decline in service, but only on the weekends. The bartender that they have on during the week nights is great! On the weekends they have both owners, Laurie and Terry, bartending. They should not be behind the bar, they just don't have what it takes to bartend, they do not pay attention to the customers at all. Laurie stands behind the bar talking to her "boyfriend" and ignores everyone else, how rude! The other one with the half black half gray hair, I think her name is Becky, is very snotty and rude to the customers. Good luck getting a drink if you go there on the weekends! My friends and I will not go there on the weekends anymore, but we will go there during the week so if you're looking for a nice bar for happy hour during the week, you'll be fine. I can't remember her name, its either Donna, Dawn, Diane? Not exactly sure but she is very friendly and you will NOT have to wait forever for a drink!

I totally agree with you Sarah! The weekday bartender, Donna, is great! She has a great personality and an awesome sense of humor. She will talk with the all customers and before you know it she has involved alot of customers into conversation with one another. I have made new friends thanks to her. But it is a completely different bar on the weekends. I was wondering why they had such "crappy" bartenders working there, now I get it, its the owners! Sarah you are right, they do not belong bartending. They have no personality at all. And that Becky is terrible! Most of the time you will see the bartenders congregating with one another, not with the customers. My opinion, the owners need to come out from behind that bar and walk around talking with the customers. They need to get rid of that Becky, and hire some good weekend bartenders!

I love going there during the week day. I totally agree with u guys the service sucks on the weekends. I don't understand why they can't get better bartenders during the weekend. Sometimes its busier during the week I think because of that fact. Another thing is most bars give u a free drink after u have been there for a while and the bartender will during the week but the owners won't. I have just about had it with that place, even though it is close I'm thinking about going somewhere else on the weekends.

i have been reading about what you all have to say about the bartenders at this bar. i have been there quite a few times without any problems of any sort on the weekends. in fact, i prefer them. a bar is in business to make money, not to give free drinks. being a bar owner myself, and having bartended for many years, i find that the more curtious the patron the nicer the tender. most bars tend to be busier on weekends and bartenders spend much less time talking to keep you occupied. i have never had troube getting a drink at this bar on the weekends, and can't imagine what your problem might be. try looking at how you treat people.

I have been to many other bars in the area of this one and at least the bartenders are friendly not like the weekend bartenders at Lazy Dog. Carol, you must know them and feel sorry for the fact that people are speaking the truth when it comes to their inability to bartend and own a succesful bar.

The point being that they are not busy on the weekends. Getting a drink shouldn't be do hard but they ignore the customers. I will not go back ever.

I am new in town and I have been visting several bar and grills in the area. I can't say anything bad about any of them. People in this town are so friendly. I came from a bigger city where customer service seemed to be the least of their priorities. But here everyone is super nice. I have been to Lazy Dog during the week and on the weekends and have never had a problem.

I have been gone from the area for about 5 years and came back to find that somethings have changed. Lazy Dog is new, Outer Limits Still is now JJ Maloneys. The Starlite Club added a sports bar and named it The Office. So being curious I had to check all of them out. The Office, well, it was ok but I only went once. Lazy Dog, very nice bar. I only went there 2 times, once during the week and once on a Saturday night. They were busier during the week then they were on that Saturday. Wonder how they pay the bills, its a gorgeous bar and must be expensive. As far as service, I thought it was fine, I didn't have to wait for a drink. JJ Maloneys was bar far the best one of the three. I have been going there regualarly now and have ran into many old high school buddies, I asked some of them why they don't ever go to Lazy Dog, its much nicer, most the response I got was because the owners are bartending and they just don't interact with the customers and everytime they ask them to turn the music up because they played the juke box they won't turn it up much if at all. They seem to cater to the much older crowd but forgetting about the ones that like to party and do shots and actually spend alot of money.
So in closing, in my opinion, Lazy Dog can be successful if the owners would just step out from the bar and let the bartenders bartend without them.

OMG people lol. We have been going to the lazy dog for a while now. The weekend bartenders are awsome, especially Becky. When u need a drink she is on
it. She is funny and friendly always. I agree with Carol, look at youself lol. Yes, they may not stand there and gab, but they never ignore people. But, I have seen the bartender during the week stand and talk with her back to the bar (hard to get a drink that way). Was just there this Friday for karaokee and it was so much fun, had to go again on Saturday for the band. All three bartenders were running, but I never had to wait for a drink. I think maybe some people are just too demanding.
