Milkyway visible in Katy TX?

I will be visiting Katy sometime within the next 2 months and I am wondering whether the milkyway is visible in the sky with the naked eye on a clear night? How about capturing the milkyway with long exposure photographs? Also, how is the light pollution there?
I have checked clear sky charts for Katy and Googled it but was hoping to hear from a real resident who sees the sky with their own eyes.

Yes the Milky Way is visible in Katy. You can see it clearly along with the Snickers and Three Musketeers at most any convenience store.
