I read the book "Shattered" and after reading it I am not convinced David Temple is guilty at all. Does anyone know if his appeals is still pending or was he denied the Appeals? Thanks!

It looks like, from what I can see online, that his Appeals case is still under review. I can't see where it was denied and if it had of been it should be in the news and I don't see it there either. I also have a few doubts on his guilty conviction--seems like the cops made a quick rush to judgment and didn't really look at anyone else in that case. That case reminds me of the David Camm murder case in New Albany, In and since you are from that area I am assuming you are familiar with it. I heard recently that Camm's third trial might be dropped for lack of evidence.

When it comes to our justice system, the only thing that matters is that a crime has been committed, and justice has to be served. Justice may be blind, but it's not always fair. Whoever has the most to gain from such a crime is who the DA goes after, evidence be damned! Now, I have absolutely no way of knowing whether Mr Camm or Mr Temple committed these horrible crimes, but each does have motive to do so, hence their incarceration. It's up to the defense lawyers to present an argument to the jury to keep their clients from being convicted. If the defense has little to offer, the defendents are going to spend the rest of their lives trading cigarettes for moon pies behind bars.

He did it. I read the book and watched the special they had ran on 48 hours mystery. David Temple lied, his family lied and they don't really care who did this horrible murder. He never did ANYTHING to try to find out what happened to his wife and unborn baby girl and his family didn't do anything either. Thats because David Temple murdered his wife and if he hired a private detective then the truth might come out. He was in love with another woman and didn't want his pregnant wife or new baby to complicate his life. His girlfriend wanted more and he couldn't give her more since he was married and his wife was pregnant. He knew that his girlfriend would break-up with him if things didn't change and she was a huge flirt anyway so it wouldn't be a problem to make him jealous. He thought that he could get away with this murder since he was so popular in his hometown. This man is heartless. He only cares about himself and his family is heartless as well. They have no respect for anybody and treated the victims family like trash. David Temple was raised to be like this so it doesn't surprise me that he ended up murdering his wife and unborn baby.

You would need to know David's background to understand how he could do such a horrible thing. David's guilty, no doubt about it.
He lost his appeal.

The man is where he belongs! To murder your wife and child and continue on a public affair showing no grief or remorse...It would of happened again, he's a monster This is what occurs when someone is raised without any accountability for their actions.

I think it's ironic that someone would break into a home take NOTHING from it, leave no DNA evidence behind. And take such a brash mode(shotgun blast) of killing the woman inside.

But the husband has an alibi that don't make sense. He is GUILTY and WHERE he belongs.

Since his final appeal has been heard. Does anyone know if the couples son has been returned to Belinda's family?

The son has been living w/ david's 2nd wife. The girl he killed Belinda to be with! He has had no contact w/ belinda's family. David thought belinda's family was poor white trash and he didn't want his son exposed to them.

David Temple deserves to sit in jail for the rest of life without the possibility of parole. The only problem with that is that law-abiding, moral citizens have to pay for his incarceration by way of our taxes. He should have received the death penalty, albeit I realize he was not eligible at the time.

Anytime we send someone to prison, law-abiding, moral citizens have to foot the bill. Like it or not, it actually costs the taxpayers MORE money to execute someone (not that I'm against it) due to the costs of all the appeals they are afforded. Whether he lives or dies, at least this murderer is off the streets, paying his debt to society.

I've only just finished reading the book "shattered" it is so very sad and tragic....can someone tell me what was the outcome of his appeal and has her son, Evan, ever reconnected with Belinda's family? If it is true that Heather has become his primary care taker my god that is seriously so wrong...regardless of innocence or guilt David is a sorry excuse for a man he he deserves to pay for his sins and the tragedy he has inflicted to so many good people....Belinda was a beautiful young woman who did not deserve this and her little baby girl Erin, how her good friends, parents and family go on i dont know...I am sorry for you.

He absolutely is GUILTY. Everyone who lives near the crime scene KNOWS he did it. He's a liar, a cheater and a double murderer.

He deserved the DEATH PENALTY.

I read reports every single day of the trial. I read the book Shattered. I knew someone who worked with Belinda.

He is an evil monster and should be on death row.

Tino is just trying to get our goat, he knows this guy is guilty, we ALL know it. No one else would have a reason to walk in, blow away a pregnant woman and leave. He's the only one who had a motive and he's in a cage! The rest of us can breathe a sigh of relief...

The dude is as guilty as it gets. He NEVER followed up with the police on the progress of the case. He states Belida was the best thing that ever happened to him and his best friend, yet he lacks interest in finding her killer! Also, why was his first thought burglary when you saw the back door open and glass broken? Would you first not check and see if maybe your wife had an accident then when there is no evidence of that take Evan to the neighbor and then investate further?? Yeah I see through this piece of trash's made up story and I am no investigator!!

Just seen the 48 Hrs documentary. Now I do not know who did it, but for the life of me if we saw a true representation of the evidence then I just cannot see how David was found guilty. Surely you cannot convict someone solely on who was the most likely person to have done it and the only one with motive...surely there has to be some evidence that points the finger at the suspect. In this case then, there has to be reasonable doubt and based on that he must be found not guilty. I have lost a lot of respect for the judicial system if this is upheld. Again I am not saying David is necessarily innocent, what I am saying is based on the evidence he cannot be found guilty.

Agree with you Rob. He may or may not be innocent, but if 48hrs accurately depicted the evidence there is no way he could be found guilty.

I agree. If 48 Hours ran a true depiction of what happened then the 12 people who convicted him are looney! The neighbour kid failed THREE lie detector tests; he lied when asked where he was during the murder. That right there is enough to suggest David's innocence.
