Post your thoughts and comments on Lake land Electric Utility. We need to begin speaking out and taking action to stop the utilities insane price increases every few months. We need to replace it's management and above all replace the useless city commissioners before we can't pay our future utility bills. Don't just sit there and take. Do something now. Speak out.

the electric bulls are crazy. for the last 2 months our bill was over $ 350.00. then all the sudden it dropped back down to $160.00. we have done nothing different. we are paying for all the mistakes Lakeland Electric has made.

I am with you on the amounts of the bills and then they raise your deposit. I was told due to the fact that my bills were averaging a higher amount. Of course the bills will be higher if they keep on raising the rates. I too am not using anymore electric then I have been prior. Please some one needs to lets us know who we need to protest against. I was told that I had to contact the City Commision. What is that going to do when Lakeland Electric is part of the City Commission. They need to be regulated just like Teco and all the other electric companies.

i agree with all of you but what i would like to know is why in my place i never see a bill but get charged the same amount if when i am on vacation and not using the electric.... no i dont have a bill as large as the rest of you but if just 1 time when you go in and ask a question you good have a smile or have a good day not just next person in line and and your dissmissed

We are all paying for the 48 million mistake that Lakeland Electric made. We need to find a way to get the media attention and get the electric company to back off from gaffing us. I wish I could print money by raising my customers bills when I feel like it. I can run a generator cheaper than my bill. I bet if you turned off you own electricty and ran a generator they would still send you a several hundred dollar bill. Let them explain that one to the city council or Tallahasse legislators.

Wow, i thought i was the only one in town with electric bills that high! My electric bill average is about 600$/month. I know how it feels to get a paycheck and then basically sign it over to Lakeland Electric and i agree that almost every employee i come across acts snooty, what's up with that?

It seem that Lakeland Electric can charge whatever they want to charge. Something has to be done. If there are any attorneys that could advise us. I have seen in the last 3 months, four of my wifes friends sell their houses and move.We need to send copies of our bills to our Govenor or to the newspapers, not the Ledger. As far as the way the employees treat us as customers, they don't have to be nice we don't have an choice where we get our. But think about it, Solar or wind power is now starting to look affordable.

I have an open air house (no AC/heat). Conserve what I can and they still bill me for about $200 or so!

Ok my bill went from 298.00 to 451.25 in one month no household changes at all. My AC runs on the same temp as last month we are rarely home since I am a single mom and work my butt off. This is crazy it is coming to the point where I will be forced to buy food for my 2 daughters or pay the light bill. I am searching for a part time job just to pay the electric bill which I tear up when I think that that is more time away from my babies just to pay a bill but what can I do...There must be something that we can do I am aware that there is a petition at the Circle K on the corner of Bananna Rd and 98N stating that we want a Choice we want another electric company to come in...

You are not alone! I know what it is like to have to write your whole paycheck over and scronge up change to pay the electric bill. I rent my home and our bill has been upward to 600$!!! It makes you feel like your being raped by the city of Lakeland. If only i could skip a bill and buy a generator :p But then i will be more pissed about the outraegeous gas price's.

You know what I hate about Lakeland Electric? You fall 5 days past due on your bill and you get a disconnect notice.(mine is due the 20th of every month, I got a disconnect notice last month on the 26th and had until the 4th to pay it)
Then I get a huge bill this month, called them to tell them I'd make the payment in 2 payments and they said they wouldn't give me an extension or an arrangement since I got a disconnect notice in the past 6 months. I HATE LAKELAND ELECTRIC!!!

i just got lakeland elec and my first bill was 150 then all of the sudden a bill for 300$ comes i rent HELL I DONT EVEN HAVE A WASHER OR A DRYER THE FUEL CHARGE WAS MORE THAN MY BILL WHAT A RIP OFF

I just got a $627 electric bill. I've had Lakeland Electric for something like 2 years. In that time, we've continued to use the same amount of energy and it jumps from $200 to $600 back and forth, making stops at $350,$450 and so on as it sees fit. They have no answer as to why.
I'm so sick of this that I'm moving out of Lakeland as soon as my lease is up.

I really believe you need to have your dryer vent cleaned and maintenance done to your A/c system and you might find that they are usually the culprits in electric savings.

Most a/c systems that I've seen have open duct runs to different rooms.Air filters some people use won't keep the indoor air handler coil from getting clogged. Therefore you use more energy to cool your home. Or it's just not operating effectively.
