Why are we so concerned about kids who dont attend BISD? The problem is we have kids not passing these tests. The problem is the parents in this community who's kids are not passing don't care. Its easy to point the finger at our teachers. We have a lot of parents who need to start acting like parents. Focus on the kids who are failing, stop worring about those who are attending other schools.

I agree. I understand the school loses money for every kid that leave the district, less money means less resources. It also makes it hard to find teachers willing to work for less pay, however as far as testing goes, we should not be worrying about those kids coming back to make our scores look better, we need to get the kids we still have to a passing standard. Some parents don't get involved and are the first to complain. You can check your kids grades online and email the teacher, you can also see what they missing.

So ur saying if a child fails their test .. Then it's the parents fault????? Have u seen or know some of theses teachers we have at our high school???!!! Talking on their phones or on their computers during class... We have a lot of great teachers here .... But we also have teachers that don't give a damn about these kids .. And could care less if these kids pass their tests.. Don't put all the blame on parents....

I do blame the parents if your child is fails a test are you checking their homework? Do you review with them every night usually the kid knows on a Monday if they're going to have a test on Friday. I actually went to the school because my child never brings home homework. since he finishes his work in class he doesn't have homework so now he is required to bring home a library book or his notebook with class notes in it to review. my point is some people pay way too much attention to other people's business wanting to know who sleeps with who like this stupid topics does. and they spend less time worrying about what their children are doing or how they're doing in school I can watch TV for 3 hours a night or I can sit beside my child for 2 hours a night and review homework so I can make sure they are passing.

I’m sure there are a few bad apples in the teaching system but get involved, talk to the teacher, if it doesn’t work talk the principal, keep going until you get the problem solved. Request a new teacher, get with other parents and see if their child has the same problem. If the teacher is the problem the proof will be in the numbers, how many of their students are failing. Don’t sit back and complain if you haven’t done your best to resolve it. If you don’t have time or make the effort then you are to blame.
